🌞 Solar Eclipse Excitement! 🌞

The children have been very interested in today's solar eclipse and have enjoyed talking about what an eclipse is and why it happens.

As part of our discussions, we talked about the importance of keeping our eyes safe. The children learned that ordinary sunglasses do not provide enough protection to look directly at the sun, even during an eclipse.

We also discovered a fun and safe way to observe an eclipse by making a pinhole projector. This simple activity allows you to view the eclipse indirectly by projecting the sun's image onto a surface rather than looking at it directly.

Please see the attached picture for an example of how to make your own pinhole projector at home with your child.

We love following the children's interests and using real-life events to spark curiosity, learning and discussion! 😊

🌼 Buttercups Monthly Update 🌼
We’ve had a lovely month in Buttercups! ☀️ The children enjoyed lots of water and ice play to keep cool, exploring, splashing and pouring both indoors and outside.
We also got creative with chalks, drawing on paper and outdoors, and even making our own chalk paint! 🎨
The children loved visits from Ark Farm and some baby frogs, giving them the chance to meet animals and learn through play. 🐑🐸
Thank you to everyone who supported our RAFA Rides event and cake sale, helping us raise funds for the nursery. 🎂🍰 We also hope you enjoyed our Father’s Day event.
