It’s here! Today marks the first day of Drowning Prevention Week 2026!

We are equipping children and young people with essential water safety and lifesaving skills ahead of the summer holidays.

Through education and awareness, we are working towards communities free from drowning. But to achieve this, we need your help.

Whether you’re a parent, carer, school, club, business, or organisation, get involved, join us to spread vital water safety messages this week.

Drowning is preventable, and together, we can save lives. 🛟

This week marks drowning prevention week, a national campaign led by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK to raise awareness of water safety and help prevent accidental drownings.

Whether you are visiting the beach, swimming in open water, spending time by rivers, lakes, or canals, it’s vital to know how to stay safe.

Remember:

Stop and think before entering the water
Never swim alone
Supervise children at all times
Know what to do in an emergency

By learning simple water safety skills, we can all help reduce the number of lives lost to drowning each year.

Kimbolton School is seeking to appoint a fun and enthusiastic swimming teacher to support our Junior Swimming Lesson scheme on a Monday and Wednesday after school from 16:00 – 18:30.

The successful candidate will be available to provide lessons to children of all ages and swimming abilities. We pride ourselves on being a well-established lesson scheme within the local area and are looking for a teacher who has the passion for swimming and can tailor their teaching techniques to suit a broad range of abilities.
