Congratulations to pupil Henry D. and James A. who attended this year’s BBC Radio Cambridgeshire Make a Difference Awards after being announced as finalists in the Young Hero category. 👏

They were Highly Commended for their incredible 36-mile Fenathlon fundraising challenge, recognising their dedication to raising awareness and funds for wildlife conservation.

Huge congratulations to pupil Lois Z. on a fantastic series of equestrian achievements 🐎

Lois claimed the Trailblazers 1m Junior Championship in the summer.

She also recently represented the Cambridgeshire Hunt team at the Burghley International Horse Trials, competing in The Burghley Le Mieux Pony Club Team Jumping. Lois and her horse Ralph produced an excellent clear round, helping her team achieve 5th place overall at this prestigious event.

She was also selected to represent Area 8 at Blenheim Palace, contributing to a 6th place team result!

Last month, a member of our school community, Eddie Wong, sadly passed away after a battle with blood and bone marrow cancer.

Eddie was a truly kind soul and very much a part of the Kimbolton family for many years. He worked for more than a decade in our Senior School kitchen and was always keen to engage with staff and pupils, greeting them and sending them off to lunch feeling good.

The Eddie Wong Commemorative plaque is now proudly situated next to the pudding counter. He will be greatly missed by everyone at Kimbolton.

Throwback to July, when seven Year 10 pupils went to the Etihad Stadium in Manchester for an event run by Pearson called More than Words: the Power of Language.

They heard inspirational speakers from different walks of life talking about how languages have boosted their careers, and the pupils had the opportunity to talk to a range of universities and employers, all with a focus on languages.

The day culminated with a ‘Languages Got Talent’ competition, where Stephanie F-I. bravely performed a poem in Portuguese in front of an audience of around 400 pupils and teachers.

An interesting and thought-provoking day for all!

We were excited to launch our first Future Friday Breakfast on Creative Careers yesterday!

Pupils heard from Falmouth University about how creativity is valued across a wide range of industries, what student life is really like, and the exciting opportunities that can follow higher education and beyond.

Join us at the next one, 20 November 7.45am for careers in computer science.
