We are pleased to share that we are offering a 6 week block of our Baby Acorns group, starting soon!

🕧 Wednesdays 12:30pm - 2:30pm

🐿 Suitable for newborns to 18months

What to Expect:
Our Baby Acorns sessions have a relaxed, free flow approach. It's not a class with any kind of end goal or expectation, it's a class to simply ‘be’, and what better way is there to do this than being surrounded by the beautiful autumn woodland! 🍁

The sessions are just as much for parents / carers as it is the little ones, if not more! There will be plenty of time for chatting, making friends and seeking advice from one another around the fire 🧡

Each week, we will have a hot drink and campfire snack on offer for the adults!☕

The session also includes:
🍂 Sensory play stations
🧶 Adult crafts (optional)
🎶 Nature-inspired songs & stories
🪢 Swings, ropes and hammocks
🌳Woodland play & discovery

❗Please note, when booking and asked for dietary requirements this should be filled in for the parent/carer so we are aware of any allergies / dietary preferences for our adult snack.

Just a few changes we made this Summer during our holiday club....

💧🚱No water in our mud kitchens. As much as the children LOVE playing with water in the mud kitchen, we could not justify filling up buckets for play, knowing the shortages our local reservoirs are facing, along with the drought.This encouraged them to apply their imagination to all the other natural ingredients we have around our woodland site!

🔥No Campfires. If I'm honest, yes we have very much missed the campfire. We've missed cooking on it, and the creativity and teamwork this brings to our sessions, the calmness around the log circle, the smell and crackling sounds and the learning moments along the way...BUT... we absolutely have a responsibility to ensure we are setting the example, educating our children and having the v important conversations about why fires are NOT safe at the moment. This supported conversations about recent wild fires, about the added pressures on our fire service where we've had fires started by people in parks and open spaces and not extinguished safely. The grass and wild spaces are currently a 5* tinder for fires! We've had some fantastic conversations with the children and young people about the risks, our responsibility and how we can help.

Although we have had to change our sessions slightly.... The children have had such an amazing time, and as always we use these opportunities as a learning spark to have important conversations with our next generation of nature protectors ❤️

Join us for magical morning in the woods, where your little one can explore, play, and connect with nature.

*What to Expect:*

This is our session for the toddlers! From Mobile (around 18 months) up to 5 years. Grown ups will get the chance to join their little ones for a forest school session! Explore the mud kitchens, play on the swings and hammocks, make a woodland craft together and enjoy all that forest school has to offer! We provide a snack for all the chlidren during the session.

🫟🌿Day 10, our final day of our Summer Holiday Club!🫟🌿

Yesterday we had our final day of holiday club for the Summer! We had lots of fun pond dipping, Magnet fishing, nature walks, mud kitchen play, den building. Lots of chilling in hammocks, playing on ropes and swings and making crafts!

We have been super proud to have been part of the HAF programme for another Summer. Welcoming lots of children who qualify for HAF vouchers, accessing free holidays clubs this summer!

We look forward to welcoming the babies and toddlers to our forest school site next Friday 7th August before a little break before we welcome back all our learners who attend our Alternative Provision, home Ed hawks and Twiglets!

We also have some VERY EXCITING news that we will be sharing v v soon. We have two new groups starting a 6 week block in September! What do you think they may be???

...only 1 day to go!!!!!

🌿🫟Day 8 of our Summer Holiday Club 🌿🫟....

Today started with a longer than usual chat around the log circle. We always go over our agreements....1. being safe 2. being kind and 3.!having fun, and general information about what activities are planned, what equipment we have up etc. But today we also spoke about the drought. Heatwave and fires 🔥

Although we love a campfire, we discussed the risks at the moment, the irresponsible behaviour of some, the pressure on our local fire stations and what part we can play in keeping safe and helping our community. We talked about how the forest/farm fires are happening and of a recent incident locally in st Ives where a group of young people lit a fire at the local park which quickly spread dangerously.

The children were all really engaged and we hope having these kinds of open conversations and bringing awareness regarding safety and responsible behaviour around fire will reduce the future generations from irresponsibility lighting fires in unsafe conditions.

Another super busy (and noisy!) day in the woods. Only 2 days left!
