Year 12 Work Experience

We are delighted that so many of our students had a great experience when they went out into the world of work in May. The range of placements was great, including Hotel Chocolat, the Raptor Foundation, Astra Zeneca, the Court of Appeal and British Transport Police.
Alice-Mae, was lucky enough to spend a number of days in Parliament with Lord Steve McCabe. Her time included seeing the Education Select Committee, meeting Black Rod, sitting in on PMQ's and meeting the Prime Minister himself. She is pictured with Sir Kier Starmer and Lord McCabe in the PM's office.

Our Year 9 students had a fantastic day at Anglia Ruskin University for the Business and Law Taster Day! 🎓✨

Students enjoyed a guided campus tour and got a real feel for university life. Highlights included visiting a mock courtroom to see how legal proceedings work, exploring the Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab with its professional finance tech, and checking out the impressive Super Lab science facilities.

It was an inspiring experience, giving students a glimpse into higher education and future careers — and encouraging everyone, including those eligible for free school meals, to aim high and explore what’s possible! 💡🚀

We are looking forward to welcoming students back after the half term break.

In anticipation of the warmer weather, blazers do not need to be worn or brought into school in the final half term of the school year. However please ensure students are not replacing their blazer with other items such as hoodies or jackets. Students may of course continue wearing their blazer if they prefer. In terms of maintaining high standards of uniform it is important that skirts are not rolled, shirts are tucked in and that jumpers are not tied at the back.

If the weather is warmer we advise that students should wear sun cream, putting this on before coming into school, and that they should bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. This can be refilled before school, at break, lunchtime and after school.
