August monthly round up!
We’ve had a fantastic time across our nursery rooms this month, with lots of hands-on activities, creativity and opportunities to learn about the world around us. 💚
🐞 Hedgehogs have been learning about being gentle and caring towards wildlife, after finding a little ladybird in the garden. They also celebrated World Elephant Day with colourful rice sensory play and created their very own Elmer elephants using glue and collage materials. 🐘🌈
🦉 Squirrels celebrated National Owl Day by getting creative with play dough and loose parts to make their very own owls. 🦉
The squirrels enjoyed giving their baby dolls a bath, exploring self care and developing those fine motor skills by squeezing the water out the sponges!
✈️ Little Rabbits have been exploring around the world — discovering where different animals live, learning about different forms of transport and enjoying airport role play. They’ve explored swamp gloop, listened to Hello to All the Children of the World, and had lots of fun with music and sounds. From our music wall and instruments to practising loud and quiet sounds and playing musical statues, there has been plenty of musical fun! 🎶🌎
🐾 Rabbits have been learning all about habitats, exploring where different animals live and how we can help to look after them. They’ve also been investigating animal footprints and noticing how each one is different. 🐾🌿
🐶 Owls have been celebrating National Dog Day by learning about different pets, what they eat and where they live. They’ve been developing their fine motor skills by cutting out animals and placing them into their beds, as well as using scoops to “feed” the pets in our tuff tray. They’ve also been exploring cause and effect through exciting soap-and-water experiments and investigating the different textures of gloop. 🫧💦
What a busy month of curiosity, creativity, sensory exploration and learning through play! 💕🌟
