This week at Nursery the 0-2 room has enjoyed exploring their surroundings and spending time in nature, the 2-3 year room children have enjoyed exploring their outside learning space, and have loved painting with water and drawing on the large outdoor chalkboard and the 3-4 year room children have enjoyed playing various colour matching games this week both inside and outdoors, including using the lightboard to sort and match the correct colour family to their home.

This week at Nursery the 0-2 room has welcomed new and familiar friends while enjoying all our favourite activities, the 2-3 room children have enjoyed getting to know their new room and friends, and have loved exploring the various activities on offer within the setting and the 3-4 room children have enjoyed getting to know each other, through reading stories and playing with all our toys. The children have loved making their own wooden spoon faces to use for self registration.

This week at Nursery the 0-2 room has concluded their 30 days wild adventures. They have had such fun exploring nature, growing flowers in the garden and spending as much time as possible outdoors, the 2-3 room children have enjoyed making a mini pond for their nursery garden. They also enjoyed talking about what wildlife might enjoy using it and the 3-4 room children have enjoyed learning the art of Hapa Zome, hitting flowers and leaves with a hammer on a cotton sheet to create the most beautiful prints.

IN LOVING MEMORY

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved former Headmaster, John Crofts. John played a pivotal role in the lives of many families at Glebe House School & Nursery, not only as Headmaster but also as a cherished volunteer and dedicated staff member following his retirement.

John’s presence was felt in every corner of our school. Whether he was reading with our Pre-Prep children, supporting sports development, leading the RotaKids Club in the Prep School, or assisting staff, he always made everyone feel valued and loved.

John was truly the heart of Glebe, embodying the spirit of our community. His generosity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to others left an indelible mark on all who knew him. We are profoundly grateful to have had the privilege of experiencing his boundless compassion and loyalty.

John was more than just a Headmaster; he was a friend, a mentor, and a role model. Education was not just his profession, but his passion and life’s mission. At Glebe, we were fortunate to benefit from his energy and dedication. He gave his all to our school, and his absence will be deeply felt every day.

John’s legacy will continue to inspire us, and he will forever remain a part of who we are at Glebe. He will be missed dearly by everyone whose lives he touched.

This week at Nursery the 0-2 room has enjoyed spending time outdoors exploring and helping nature, the 2-3 room children have enjoyed collecting objects from the garden and field to create a wonderful natural mobile and the 3-4 room children have enjoyed being outside in the long awaited sunshine. The children also had fun making some butterfly feeders and bug houses.

This week at Nursery the 0-2 room has enjoyed practicing their fine motor skills by picking daisies, the 2-3 room children have been using their fine motor skills to celebrate the special men in their lives by creating cards in readiness for Father's Day and the 3-4 room had fun making and decorating nature boxes to take outside and collect lots of lovely things that caught their eyes!

This week at Nursery the 0-2 room have enjoyed outdoor learning, hunting for minibeast, the 2-3 room children have enjoyed going on nature walks and spending time in the forest school area. They have been able to spot different insects and birds and talk about where they live and the 3-4 room enjoyed watching our butterflies emerge from their cocoons and will soon be ready to be let free. The children were very excited to see them!

This week at Nursery the 0-2 room have enjoyed working on their fine motor skills when completing farm puzzles, the 2-3 room children have had great fun pretending to be farmers this week and enjoyed playing in the farm tray with all the different animals and the 3-4 room have been enjoying learning about the goings on of a farm and using vegetables to do some amazing printing.

INVITATION! Marie and her team are excited to invite all nursery parents to their first 'Coffee & Cake'.

Come along and meet other families of children currently at Nursery over a coffee. Children are very welcome to join you and refreshments will be provided for them too.

'Coffee & Cake' will be held in the Dining Hall, Glebe House School. To enter the Dining Hall, please come in via the external fire escape stairs beside the minibus. A member of the Nursery staff will be there to meet you.
