Hypnobirthing isn’t just for mums. 🤍

When people hear “hypnobirthing”, they often imagine it’s all about breathing techniques for the person giving birth.

But one of the biggest transformations I see happens in their birth partner.

They arrive wondering, “What if I don’t know what to do?”

They leave understanding how labour works, how to create a calm environment, how to offer meaningful support, and how to help you make informed decisions along the way.

Birth isn’t something your partner simply watches happen.

They’re an important part of your birth team.

So when you prepare for birth together, you walk into labour feeling like a team—calmer, more connected and ready to support one another.

💛 Because birth preparation isn’t just for mums. It’s for both of you.

Have you and your birth partner started preparing for birth yet? I’d love to know in the comments. ⬇️

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is…

“Hypnobirthing isn’t for me because I don’t want a ‘hippy’ birth.”

The truth? Hypnobirthing isn’t about having a particular type of birth.

It’s not about being hypnotised.
It’s not about ignoring pain.
It’s not only for home births.
And it’s certainly not about striving for a “perfect” birth.

✨ Hypnobirthing is about understanding how your body works in labour.
✨ It’s about learning practical techniques to help you stay calm and cope with contractions.
✨ It’s about making informed decisions and understanding your options.
✨ It’s about preparing for birth—whether you have a spontaneous labour, an induction, or a planned caesarean.

Because birth doesn’t always go exactly as we hope, but feeling informed, supported and prepared can make a world of difference.

If you’ve ever dismissed hypnobirthing because you thought it “wasn’t for you,” I’d love to know… what did you think hypnobirthing actually was? Let me know in the comments. 🤍

Each week focuses on a different theme, giving you the opportunity to learn a variety of techniques to support you throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond.

While you’re very welcome to book individual drop-in sessions, joining the full 4-week course allows you to experience the complete programme and build a toolkit of relaxation and birth preparation techniques that grow week by week.

Have you ever heard of the fear–tension–pain cycle?

When we feel frightened, our body naturally switches into “fight or flight” mode. Our breathing becomes shallower, our muscles tense, and everything feels a little harder.

During labour, this tension can make contractions feel more intense and make it harder to work with your body.

This is one of the reasons hypnobirthing focuses so much on understanding birth, building confidence, and learning relaxation techniques.

It’s not about pretending labour won’t be challenging or expecting everything to go perfectly. It’s about giving yourself practical tools to help you feel calmer, more in control, and better able to respond to whatever your birth brings.

Knowledge really can change the way you experience birth. 🤍

Have you heard of the fear–tension–pain cycle before? Let me know in the comments ⬇️

✨ There is so much about birth that we simply aren’t told.

Instead, we’re often left piecing things together from TV dramas, social media and well-meaning advice. It’s no wonder so many parents head into labour feeling anxious or overwhelmed.

The truth is, understanding how birth works can completely change how you experience it.

That’s exactly why I teach hypnobirthing. Not to promise a “perfect” birth, but to help you feel calmer, more informed and better prepared for whatever your journey looks like.

Swipe through to discover 5 things I wish every expectant parent knew before labour. 💛

I’d love to know… which one surprised you the most? Let me know in the comments. ⬇️

We often hear about breathing, movement and relaxation in labour… but can we talk about laughter?

Laughter isn’t just something that happens despite labour—it can actually be incredibly helpful.

When you laugh, your body releases endorphins, your natural feel-good hormones. These same hormones can help you cope with contractions, encourage relaxation and reduce feelings of stress and tension.

Of course, labour isn’t one long comedy show. There are moments that are intense, emotional and challenging. But there can also be moments of genuine laughter—a funny comment from your birth partner, an unexpected moment, or simply finding joy in between contractions.

Those little moments matter.

So don’t feel like your birth space has to be silent and serious. If watching a funny programme, listening to a comedian, or sharing silly memories with your birth partner helps you feel relaxed, bring that with you.

A calm body doesn’t always look quiet. Sometimes it looks like smiling. Sometimes it sounds like laughing.

And that’s beautiful too. 🤍

Have you ever heard a positive birth story where laughter played a part? I’d love to hear it in the comments. ✨
