1st Steps-Quality Childminding

Today's technology build was great!
Learning to follow the instruction booklet, finding the correct pieces and actually putting it togetner as a team! We had lots of fun together to see who could get rhe cars through the hoop and to travel the furthest/fastest before creating more ramps and tunnels to extend our play🏍😁

Burning off some energy,out of the sun,this afternoon😀

Lovely small animal handling workshop today
The children were lucky enought to feed the fish,stroke and hold Donald the lovely syrian hamster and 2 beautiful Guinea pigs .We then had the oppurtunity to meet a very cheeky Rat called Sooty ,that loved to climb on everyone's shoulders and play peek a boo in our hair 🐀❤️
Thankyou Ellie for such an informative and fun afternoon and for our colouring sheets and stickers!
Yes we did bring a pet home but luckily iit was fish and not Sooty,the Rat, as all the children wanted to adopt him so much and keep.him for daily cuddles 🤣🙈

It's been lovely to visit this place once again today!
They've now opened a fantastic new playground which the children.have enjoyed aswell as playing in the big open grass /den areas.
We've explored the woodland trails,created nature art,enjoyed lots of den play and also spotted lots of different flowers and insects on our adventures!

A big thankyou to everyone that donated towards our craft box for the Sunshine trolley🌞
The children took our donations this afternoon and handed them to Volunteering Services at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. to add to their sunshine triolley,,an invaluable resource, that is offered to children that are currently staying in the hospitals -Thankyou for their gorgeous little crochet bumble bees and stickers-the children absolutely loved them!🐝
What a fantastic charity to support and a great opportunity for the children to be part of helping their own local commuity-developing an understanding of diversity, respect and other people's life challenges.Helping other children with empathy and kindness are invaluable experiences that ,when embedded over time ,will stay with children throughout their whole life ❤️
Also I'd like to say thankyou to Sainsbury's who donated a gift card for the children to independently choose some resources to add to their gift box.
We hope the children love all the little activity and craft ideas we've collected for them😀

🍓 Today We went strawberry picking! 🍓
There is nothing quite like a summer trip to the patch to remind us how amazing learning through play really is. The children had the absolute best time hunting for the ripest berries, and it was incredible to see how a simple, fun activity naturally offered so many learning opportunities.
As they carefully pinched the stems to pick the fruit, the children were working hard on their fine motor skills and pincer grips they need for writing. They chatted away the whole time, using lovely descriptive words like juicy, bumpy, and sweet to talk about what they found.We sneaked in plenty of maths too, counting the berries into baskets and talking about which tubs felt heavy or light. Back home we learnt all about the cycle of the strawberry- looking at the tiny seeds and talking about how bees help the plants grow from flowers into fruit.It was the perfect "farm to fork" day full of fresh air, sticky fingers, and real-world learning. ✨

Water play fun first thing today-the children have enjoyed the water wall with pumps,pipes and water wheels aswell as games in the water trays.
The children have been busy exploring early mathematical skills and language,fine motor and gross motor physical development, understanding the world through imaginative and collaborative play,problem solving skills and lots of (very wet) FUN!

Our beautiful painted ladies have emerged with the sunshine this morning ☀️
We've enjoyed making sugar water and observing them whislt they have been busy enjoying their kiwi and strawberries🦋🍓
