Build your foundation in Islamic knowledge.

Alhamdulillah, students in the TUBA Islamic Studies Diploma have already completed the fiqh chapters of Purification, Prayer and Fasting — the essential acts of worship that shape a Muslim’s daily life.

Lessons resume Monday 23rd March (inshaAllah) as we begin the next pillar of Islam:

Zakat.

In this module we will explore:

• Who must pay Zakat
• How to calculate Nisab
• What wealth is zakatable
• Who qualifies to receive it
• The deeper wisdom behind Islamic social justice

Alongside this, our Islamic Manners (Adab) classes continue — currently discussing how Muslims interact with non-Muslims, including professional workplaces and modern social settings.

We are also considering hosting a special Ramadan Zakat session open to the wider community.

If you want structured Islamic learning rooted in the classical tradition, this diploma is for you.

Lessons resume soon. Join now.

Why the Proof Feels “Near”: The Earth and Daily Life Are the Argument

Continuing through Tafsir al Nasafi - Madarik al Tanzil on Surah al Naba (78) looking at verses 6-11.

وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا ۝ وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا ۝ وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا ۝

Starting from the earth - the soil of resurrection - then comes sleep - a moment of intimacy under the protection of night, but also the closest moment to death. One might expect “daytime activity” to be the centre of life, with sleep as an interruption. Yet the Qur’an orders it the other way around, almost as if sleep is an objective in itself—a mercy and a design feature, not merely a pause.

This ordering supports ḥikmah: even what seems passive (sleep) is purposeful. So what about your purpose?

Then it switches to daytime activity and ascends outwards.

The mind is carried from what is underfoot to what is out of this world, from what is daily to what is cosmic, until accepting resurrection becomes the only rational conclusion.

How we treat ourselves often becomes how we treat those who depend on us — our children and our spouse.

When religion becomes harsh in the heart, that harshness spills outward. It isn’t sustainable. Either we burn out, or those around us begin to find faith heavy rather than life-giving.

The Prophet ﷺ understood people psychologically. He met them where they were, not where they were expected to be. Growth was gradual, and mercy was central.

Ramadan is not about breaking ourselves into consistency, but learning how to walk towards Allah with steadiness and care.

A Fruitful Ramadan — A Reflection

JazakumAllāh khayran to everyone who attended A Fruitful Ramadan — In Mind & In Heart. Your presence and attentiveness helped create a calm and meaningful space.

One of the key reflections shared was the difference between intention and resolution.

An intention is something we sincerely aim for, while accepting that the path may change. Circumstances shift, energy fluctuates, and methods need reassessing — yet the goal remains the same.

A resolution, however, can become rigid: pushing forward regardless of cost, refusing to adapt, until burnout sets in and consistency collapses.

This is why intention holds such a central place in Islam. It keeps the heart oriented towards Allah even when we need to recalibrate our approach.

We hope to build on this and humbly ask for your duʿās and continued support, as we intend good for all.

Thanks to Markazi Jamia Masjid Ghausia Official for the venue at the amazing Unity Centre.

While no gathering is ever perfect, we’re genuinely encouraged by the progress made and by the heartfelt verbal feedback shared on the day. We pray that Allah places barakah in what was learned and allows it to carry us through Ramadan and beyond.

Slides will be shared with attendees later today. And later this week we will share the recording of Shaykh Idris’s talk for attendees.
