In Reception, they learned that Jesus is a special person for Christians and that they try to follow his example.

The children also worked hard to sequence the story, demonstrating their understanding of the events and key messages about friendship and following Jesus.

🏆😊Congratulations to our Special mentions this week 😊🥇

Reception
Ollie for being a role model to the rest of the class. He always helps others and is flying in every lesson.
Nico G for his writing in phonics and also independently. He gets his whiteboard and encourages everyone.

Year 1
Percy for his art work. He independently completed his self portraits in the style of Picasso, thinking carefully about his shapes.
Erin for her writing. She was very resilient when she found elements tricky.

Year 2
Florence for her independence in her learning. She has been writing sentences independently in English.
Josiah for being a wonderful member of the class. He is a delight to teach and have in class.

Year 3
Adeline W for her hard lesson in every lesson and making sure everything is to a brilliant standard.
Kobie for working hard with his numbers. He sets himself challenges daily and has been working on them independently whenever he has free time.

Year 4
Elijah for his poetry writing in English. He has used figurative language in his poem with powerful vocabulary.
Bradley for his hard work with his spellings. He is trying really hard to learn them and putting the into his work.

Year 5
Jaxon for his maths work. In every maths lesson, he works hard to answer questions and uses his mathematical knowledge to complete difficult challenges.
Emma for her writing this week. She has used a conjunction in her writing when describing a Ancient Greek beast.

Have a great weekend everyone.

📚 Author Visit – Simon James Hunt

We are very excited to share that author Simon James Hunt will be visiting our school next Wednesday 7th October! 🎉

Simon will be reading some of his wonderful books to the children and talking to them about what it’s like to be an author – from coming up with ideas to turning them into books. We know the children will love hearing all about his experiences! 📖✨

In Reception they looked at pictures of places of worship- outside and inside and talked about who belongs there. The children then took part in a shared experience as a class by making bread together and sharing it amongst our friends, just like they would in a Sikh Langar, Holy Communion or Shabbat/Pesach.

Early Years had a lovely woodland walk in our school orchard! We went on a special hedgehog hunt and discovered a letter from a hedgehog called spike. Spike asked us to help him build a cosy shelter ready for winter, where he could hibernate.
