Did you know the University of Huddersfield Library offers a range of study zones designed to match the way you work best? 📚 Whether you need a quiet space to focus or an area to collaborate with friends, there’s a spot that suits your study style and helps you make the most of your time on campus.

The Calm Zone has had an upgrade. In this shelving unit you will find fidget toys, jigsaws and colouring books.

We’ve upgraded our 24/7 computer suite!

You now have access to faster computers and a better study experience around the clock.

What’s new?
- 41 new higher spec PCs
- bigger 27” screens
- more specialist software including Adobe Creative Cloud

🌼🌸Spring into Study with University of Huddersfield Library and our 24-7 Computer Suites 📝💻

To support students during the busy assessment period, our usual 24/7 Computer Suite spaces will be expanded starting from 5pm on Thursday 2 April until 5pm on Friday 29 May.

During this time, student can continue to use our two main 24/7 Suites:
📵Silent Study SB4/07
and
🤫Quiet Study SB4/08
(found just beyond the Amazon lockers on corridor to the right of the atrium)

🆕In addition for the Spring Study Season, we are opening up a third 24/7 suite, SB4/11 which is in the same corridor.

When opened it will provide:
💻20 computer workstations and 📝20 standard study desks
and a 🛐pop‑up prayer space.

The combined area will also provide round‑the‑clock access to:
Vending machines with ☕️hot and 🥛cold drinks and snacks🍫

📚The Library will also open on both May Bank Holidays:

Monday 4 May: 10:00 – 22:00

Monday 25 May: 10:00 – 16:00

Spring into study in the 24/7 Computer Suite and Library!

During this period you can access the following services around the clock:

24/7 Computer Suite
SB4/11 nearby (additional study space, PCs and prayer space)
Vending machines (hot and cold drinks, snacks)
All the Library's online resources

And in addition to our usual opening hours, the Library will also be open on the two Bank Holidays:
Monday 4th May, 10.00am - 10.00pm
Monday 25th May, 10.00am - 4.00pm

We asked of Huddersfield students to share their top tips for staying healthy, physically and mentally, in the winter, on our Prompt Board in the Calm Zone (Floor 5). 🤔❓❄️

Student's suggested the following:

Have snowball fights.
Wear a jumper.
Cycling.
Get cosy in bed.
Get out in to the sunlight every day.
Read a good book with a hot tea.
Sleep.
Wear thermals.

You can find the Calm Zone on Floor 5, next to the Silent Study area and PGR Study Room. Our Subject Librarians write a different prompt, thought, idea, question or even a puzzle or game on it each month and there are always board pens available for students to respond.

We loved hosting BTEC Fashion and Textiles students from for a research workshop in the library this morning with . Lots of fun looking at books and magazines for the ideation stage of a final major project.
