🍰 CHESTNUT HOLIDAY CLUB BAKE SALE! 🍰
What a fantastic few days we have had at Chestnut Holiday Club! As part of our Occupation Week, the children put their baking skills to the test and created a wonderful variety of delicious homemade treats for our very own bake sale! 🧁🍪
The children then took on the exciting responsibility of running the stall themselves! They welcomed and spoke to customers, proudly told them about the treats they had made, handled money and worked out prices together. 💷✨
It was fantastic to see the children working together as a team, taking turns, communicating with customers and supporting one another throughout the day. They showed so much confidence, responsibility and enthusiasm!
Most importantly, all their hard work helped us raise money towards our end-of-holidays party next week! 🎉🥳
The children were incredibly proud of everything they had achieved — and so are we! ❤️ They have worked so hard, learned so much and should be extremely proud of themselves! 🌟

🧁👩🍳 Occupation Week: Bakers! 👨🍳🧁
It’s Occupation Week at Chestnut Holiday Club, and our children have been busy putting their baking skills to the test! They’ve baked a fantastic variety of homemade treats and are now so excited to sell them to you! 🍪🧁🍰
Tomorrow and Friday, we will have two cake stalls — one in the car park and one in the Chestnut Centre reception.
The children will take turns selling the cakes, taking money, working out change and, most importantly, working together as a team! 💷🤝
🌟 Learning Intentions
Through our bake sale, the children will develop their:
* 💷 Maths skills – recognising money, counting and working out change.
* 🗣️ Communication skills – speaking confidently with customers and listening carefully.
* 🤝 Teamwork – taking turns, sharing responsibilities and supporting one another.
* 💪 Confidence & independence – taking on different roles and making decisions.
* 🧠 Problem-solving skills – working out prices, payments and the correct change.
🕙 Stalls open from 10:15am until we sell out!
Once they’re gone, they’re gone! 👀 But don’t worry — we’ll have more delicious treats on Friday! ❤️

The Caribbean vibes are officially in full swing! From getting creative with our tie-dye T-shirts 🎨👕 to practicing our moves for the Dance Off 💃🏽🕺🏽 and making our colourful festival banner 🎨✨ — we’ve been getting ready for an unforgettable celebration!
Our theme this year is CARIBBEAN 🌴🌊🌺, and we’re bringing the colour, culture, creativity and energy! 🔥

🏉 Sports Week at Chestnut Holiday Club! 🏉
As part of our Sports Week, we’re excited to share another fantastic opportunity for our families!
On 30th July, we gave away FREE tickets to some of our families, giving them the chance to enjoy a live Huddersfield Giants match together.
Now, thanks to Huddersfield Giants, there’s another FREE opportunity for families to experience the excitement of a real rugby league game. The Giants take on the Catalans Dragons on Saturday 8th August at the Accu Stadium, and we hope as many families as possible are able to take advantage of this fantastic offer.
At Chestnut Holiday Club, we love giving children and their families opportunities to enjoy new experiences outside of the setting. With Sports Week taking place this week and Sports Day tomorrow, this is a brilliant way to continue encouraging children to get involved in sport, support their local team, and create special family memories.
A huge thank you to Huddersfield Giants for making these opportunities possible. We hope everyone who attends has an amazing day! 💛💜
