Today at Moorlands School we practised our saw and knife skills and made butter knives. We selected the wood, learnt how to safely use a saw to cut it to size, then followed instructions on using a knife safely to carve the shape of our butter knife. We then tested our homemade knives by using them to spread butter and jam on to bread. Yum!

When glamping at The Camp Hill Estate it's an absolute must to learn how to put up a hammock on these warm summer days. Book the Seasonal Bushcraft session (2-4pm, Saturdays and Sundays) to learn this and other cool skills. Recommended for adults and children aged 8 and over.

Our last session of the half term at Moorlands School went out with a bang! Every child in KS1 and KS2 have learned how to collect firewood, build a fire (mostly in the rain!), sampled wild garlic and learnt about this incredible edible plant, baked some wild garlic bread over the campfire, spread on the butter and voila! Delicious! Well done children! Well done Roberto Treebeard!

A great start to our Bushcraft activities at The Camp Hill Estate over the weekend. Foraging wild garlic and using it to bake garlic bread, carving our own knives to spread the butter, and collecting nettles, spruce tips, bramble and wild strawberry to make a refreshing hot tea to finish.
