Reception Metcalfe and Cole enjoyed some beautiful sunny afternoons of outdoor learning this week.
We have practised our counting using natural objects and ordering from largest to smallest. We then made some wonderful Autumn sculptures with things we could find in the environment.
The children worked really hard using their fine motor skills to attach the objects together. It took lots of concentration.

We have really enjoyed our author event in years 3 and 4 with Phil Corbett! He talked about his funny comic books and he taught us how to draw our own characters! 2 Lightowlers have enjoyed a zoom with Read. Holmfirth today. We were joined by the author of Captain Sunshine - Alex Milway. Alex read his story and showed us how to draw the characters.

We have started our Maths program, Maths Seeds, in Reception. The children are very excited when it is their turn.
We cannot wait to track who has been accessing it at home and seeing the amazing progress 🥰

A great start to our Thursday morning... Mr K has arrived to lead our assemblies- a story with a moral, a song and a quiz. Look how attentive we are, we love his visits.

Wow! Look at this fabulous piece of artwork that Cole in 5 Bunting produced at home. Such a talented artist! He shared the techniques that he used to create the painting, including using a tissue to dab on the paint to create texture. We love seeing the fantastic things you do out of school. Keep them coming!
