Aquastrokes

Aquastrokes Swimming lessons for everyone in Elland, Huddersfield and Mirfield My Name is Ruth Walker and I have been teaching swimming for over 20 years.

Aquastrokes was formed in 2001 and I have taught many pupils young and old to swim to a high standard. I specialise in teaching young children so your child can commence lessons from 4 months old and will be taught by the same teacher up to early competitive level. My ethos is to encourage your child to swim independently and be taught strokes at a very early age. Many pupils who commence lessons at pre school age can swim unaided using correct strokes by the time they start school. I use the Swim England award scheme including Ducklings, Waterskills, Bronze, Silver and Gold. I also teach Water Safety and Rookie Lifeguard. My lessons run during term time only which I find works well not only for the children but for the parents too. In 2022, to develop the Swim School I was pleased to welcome new staff members. These teachers are all qualified Level 2+ in teaching swimming and have rescue qualifications.
