A little fabric, a lot of imagination 🦋💙

Our butterfly wings give our dancers the chance to explore movement in their own way — fluttering, stretching, spinning and seeing where their imagination takes them!

Props like these can spark new ideas and encourage children to express themselves, without needing every movement to look the same. It’s lovely to see their individual personalities come through. ✨

Four little lion cubs and a lovely moment of laughter! 🦁💙

The lion headbands helped bring our Tiny Tots’ imaginations to life, but this little group giggle was a moment all of its own!

Alongside the dancing, there’s time to get to know each other, share something funny and enjoy being together. For our youngest dancers, those moments help the studio become a familiar, happy place where they feel comfortable joining in.

We love watching friendships begin and little personalities come through as their confidence grows. And these four certainly gave us something to smile about! 🐾💙

Little headbands, BIG imaginations! 🦁💙

Our Tiny Tots became little lion cubs, exploring movement and bringing their characters to life. A simple headband can be the start of a whole adventure!

Pretending to be animals encourages children to use their imaginations — creeping like little cubs, stretching their paws and following the music on their own jungle adventure.

Along the way, they’re practising listening, coordination and expressing their own ideas, all through play. And when everyone joins in, even a quieter little cub can find the confidence to have a go. 🐾

So much learning in a little lion adventure! 💙

The three things we get asked most at this time of year… 💙

“Is it too late to join now the term has started?”
Not at all! We welcome new starters throughout the term, as long as there’s space in the right class.

“Does my child need to have danced before?”
Absolutely not. Everyone starts somewhere, and we’ll help them settle in at their own pace.

“What if they feel nervous?”
That’s completely normal. A new place, new faces and a new activity can feel like a lot at first. We’ll give them time, introduce them to the class and make sure they have someone friendly to turn to.

If you’ve been thinking about getting in touch, please do. There’s no such thing as a silly question, and we’re always happy to help you find the right class for your child. 💙

We’ve welcomed so many new starters to HDA this term, and a few of our classes are now nearly full. Thank you to every family who has chosen us. We know choosing a dance school for your child is a big decision, and it means a lot that you’ve trusted us with them. 💙

One of the things we love most about teaching is getting to know each child. We love seeing the quiet ones find their confidence, the friendships that form in class, and the moment something they’ve been working on finally clicks. Those little moments matter just as much to us as the big ones.

That’s why we do what we do. We want every child who walks into our studios to feel welcome, supported and proud of what they’re achieving. To our new families, we’re so glad you’re here. And to the families who have been with us for years, thank you for helping make HDA the place it is.

We’re missing Showtime ✨

The excitement backstage.
The costumes lined up and ready.
The cheers when the curtain goes up.
And seeing our dancers shine together on stage.

Our show in May was our best yet, and we still love looking back at it. Now rehearsals are underway for our Christmas event, and we can’t wait to see everyone sparkle on stage again! 🎄💙

We know how much courage it takes to step out there, and you all did yourselves proud. Seeing your smiles afterwards, and watching you cheer each other on, meant so much to us.

And to come home with medals on your first festival weekend too! 🏅 What a lovely way to mark the start of your festival journey. We’re proud of every single one of you. ⭐

What a lovely weekend at the SDA Festival! 💙

A huge congratulations to all our dancers. We’re so proud of every one of you for getting out there, performing and giving it your all.

The results were wonderful, but what meant the most to us was seeing how you supported each other throughout the weekend. Watching you cheer each other on and enjoy being part of a team meant so much. That’s what HDA is all about. 💙

It was lovely to meet dancers and teachers from other schools too. A big thank you to Nikki, Lauren and the whole team for such a relaxed, welcoming and well organised festival. We’re already looking forward to next year!
