Proud of the amazing team at Brunel Construction Centre. 💙

Tomorrow, a group of our fantastic staff will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for The Kirkwood, in memory of our very own Peter Newman, who was a technician in our Plumbing department for many years.

Peter was a valued member of the Brunel family, and his contribution to our students, staff and Construction Centre will always be remembered.

It’s fantastic to see colleagues coming together, taking on such a challenge and raising money for such a worthy cause in Pete’s memory.

I’m absolutely gutted that I can’t be there to take part with you, but I’ll certainly be cheering you on and checking in throughout the day.

Good luck to everyone taking part, you’re doing Pete proud.

This Thursday saw a fantastic example of the power of industry partnerships. A huge thank you to Stephanie Cooper and the team at Jewson for launching our new partnership to help support our Level 2 students. Each learner leaving college will receive a professional tool bag, a trade account with a £500 credit limit, and a £50 voucher, but most importantly continued support from the team at Jewsons to help support our students transition into industry. Partnerships like these make a real difference and demonstrate our shared commitment to supporting the next generation of construction professionals.

Want to develop your bricklaying skills? Join our 6-week part-time course at the Brunel Construction Centre starting 5 March.

You’ll learn basic bricklaying tasks, including preparing materials, setting out, building walls, and jointing/pointing techniques. The course also covers health and safety, as well as the tools and equipment you’ll need.

On completion, you could progress to our E3 Award in Bricklaying or other DIY courses such as joinery or plastering. Please bring a pair of safety boots (steel toe).
