With the dust settling on the first week back of the new school year our phone has been ringing off the hook with parents/carers wanting to book assessments for their children. So what can you expect from an assessment at our centre:

Our assessments are warm, welcoming and a positive experience. Your child will be put at ease and we will answers all of your questions.

One of our Centre Directors will conduct the initial assessment, working with your child to identify their strengths and develop an individual learning plan to support their maths and English.

We will then feedback all of our findings in a sensitive and honest conversation with you. We will offer our recommendation of what the best course of action would be and how we can support your child.

Our assessments are completely free of charge and you are under no obligation to sign up.

Wishing all our students and all students returning to school this week all the best for a positive return to classroom teaching. There will no doubt be some butterflies in tummies, there certainly was in our house.

Today is the start of the Chinese New Year, celebrated by over 20% of the world, and 2021 is the year of the Ox. In Chinese culture, the Ox is a valued animal. Because of its role in agriculture, positive characteristics, such as being hardworking and honest, are attributed to it. Happy New Year! 新年快乐

Whilst we're not able to open our centre in Lockwood for the foreseeable future we are very much able to support students with their maths, English and science.

We've taught 100s of lessons a week online since March 2020 using iKip our fantastic online teaching system. Our qualified, DBS checked teachers are all tucked away safely at home teaching the same superb lessons as we would in-centre but fully securely.

The consistency of our weekly live, taught sessions with the same teacher every week have helped support our students keep up with these important core subjects. We've been there week in, week out and we're so proud how well our students have progressed when so many are falling behind and struggling. We can help your son or daughter through this current lockdown and have space for students from Y1 to Y12.

Our thoughts are with all Y6 students sitting the Halifax 11+ this morning. It's been an exceptionally weird year but our 11+ers have been incredible, working remotely via iKip and completing the enormous amount of practice papers and work that we have set them.
