Today, children took part in a very important assembly about staying safe near the water. Sue from The Canalside Trust came in to talk about water safety and what to do if there was an incident. All the children were fabulous at answering her questions and were particularly knowledgeable about cold water shock. These were such important message before we head into the summer holidays - well done everyone and thank you to Sue.

πΏ Family Forest Picnic πΏ
On Saturday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our new Reception starters and their families to our annual Family Forest Picnic, and what a lovely day we all had!
It was wonderful to see the children exploring, playing and beginning to make new friendships, while families had the opportunity to meet one another and our staff in a relaxed setting.
We have such a lovely new cohort joining our school this September, and we can't wait to get to know each and every one of them properly. We are so excited to watch them grow, learn and flourish into confident, happy little people during their journey with us.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the afternoon so special. We look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

Today's final Forest School session was a catch-up for the session we missed back in February. Instead of bad weather, we were greeted with scorching sunshine! It was far too hot to have a fire, unfortunately, so we enjoyed a picnic of marshmallows and biscuits instead, which went down a treat.
The children were encouraged to stay in the shaded areas of the forest, allowing us to enjoy a lovely, relaxed, and calm session. Many children chose to sit and do crafts, while others climbed trees or played with the new fairy house. It was especially lovely to spend one-to-one time chatting with the children and hearing all about their thoughts and experiences.
For our final reflection of the academic year, we talked about what they had loved most about Forest School over the many sessions they had attended. As always, their responses were thoughtful, heartwarming, and a wonderful reminder of the value of these experiences. It has been a pleasure to share another year of Forest School adventures with them.
"The calmness of nature."
"Being out in nature."
"Being here makes me feel happy and safe."
"I love to just play,play,play,play!"
"Being around trees and shade."
"Being able to build."
"Being able to move, not just be sat at a desk."
"Calm, happy ,relaxing, nature."
