Happy National Badger Day!

Two of our team members Rhi and Debbie spent their Sunday visiting various badger setts with a group of like minded people, looking at and discussing the signs badgers leave behind. PC CJ Newsome spoke about the serious side of badger protection and some of the abhorrent wildlife crimes that she deals with. Thanks to Sue, Robert, and Huddersfield Badgers - Protect Rescue Release for a very insightful day.

🔎Friday Forensic Fact🔍

Your body can leave evidence behind… even after you’re gone.

After death, the body begins to cool towards the temperature of its surroundings, a process known as algor mortis.

But it’s not as simple as a set number of degrees per hour. Temperature, clothing, body size and the surrounding environment can all affect how quickly a body cools.

Alongside other evidence, body temperature can help estimate the post-mortem interval.

Death leaves clues. Forensic science knows how to read them.

Lovely to see a few more photos from last week’s HD8 Business Exchange 🖤💛

It was great to get out and about for a few hours, meet some other local businesses and organisations, and put a few faces to names.

Thanks again to HD8 Life CIC for organising the event and to everyone we had a chat with on the day!

☕ Today is International Coffee Day 2026.

Which seems an appropriate time to recognise one of the hardest-working pieces of equipment at Think Forensic…

The kettle.

Crime scenes come and go. The kettle remains. 😂

A huge thank you to PC CJ Newsome, for a very enlightening and informative talk yesterday.

The event was very well attended and provided a valuable insight into wildlife law, the wider impact of wildlife crime, and the ongoing persecution faced by our local wildlife.

We also bought some beautifully decorated biscuits!

Business networking is hungry work!!

A great couple of hours at the HD8 Business Exchange today, chatting to lots of local businesses and organisations.

Obviously, we couldn’t head back to the Crime Centre without a little post-event lunch at Gordon & Frank's Coffee House 😋

Thanks to HD8 Life CIC for a lovely event and to everyone who stopped by to say hello! 🔎
