It’s March - time to start planting! There’s something magical about growing food with kids 🌱

Watching their eyes light up when the first tiny sprout pushes through the soil… the excitement of watering “their” plants… the pride in tasting a tomato they grew themselves 🍅

It’s so much more than gardening - it’s patience, responsibility and curiosity all rolled into one muddy growing adventure.

Plus, food just tastes better when you grow it, harvest it and eat it together! 🔥

January Week 3 - All things varied and wonderful this week.
Two days of first aid training and finding patches of blue sky. Amazing visitors in school from fox rescue, the Huddersfield bee keepers and national trust.
Bird watching after school clubs x 2 and trying to keep things dry in the never ending rain!

OCTOBER HOLIDAY CLUB 🍁🥰

This week we’ve been soaking up all the best bits of autumn! Busy exploring the woods, following badger tracks and playing games whatever the weather 🐾

We kept cosy with homemade soup, toasted marshmallows by the fire, and tried to make our very own chocolate apples 🍫🍎🔥 (before I ruined the chocolate) And no autumn would be complete without drilling 300 conkers!

DANDELION 🌱 🟡
We’re fully loving this dandelion season! It’s been full of foraging joy and splashes of yellow.
We’ve made dandelion lemonade, dandelion pancakes, dandelion syrup/honey, dandelion and nettle tea and dandelion art too!

HOLIDAY CLUB / Wednesday 16th August

The day of the chickens 🐓 there was a lot of chicken cuddling today! Making salads for the guinea pigs and apple donuts for the humans 😂 or as Eska called them ‘apples disguised as donuts’. We went pond dipping - played many rounds of Thomas’ hide and seek game and painted rocks in the afternoon.

Holiday Club / Tuesday 15th April

Tuesday was a beautiful day full of camo face paint, hide and seek, making beautiful natural inks with Vicki and doing some woodwork in the afternoon.

We made cookies in our reflector oven and had to constantly problem solve to work out how to get them to bake effectively. At the end of the day one of the children had written a story that he wanted to share around the campfire. 🔥
