There is a moment in therapy that many clinicians carry with them forever. It’s the day a parent walks into your office and, instead of sharing another story of exhaustion, looks at you and says: “I have my family back again.”
This was a real moment shared by therapist Taylor Hayden, MA, LPC-S, LCMHC, during our recent webinar, From Dysregulation to “Safe Enough”: Practical Strategies to Support Neurodivergent Clients. Taylor described working with an adolescent client experiencing severe ADHD and intense dysregulation. Daily three-hour meltdowns and violent outbursts had become the norm, leaving the entire family overwhelmed and exhausted.
But when the therapeutic focus shifted from behavioral compliance to nervous system regulation and felt safety, everything began to change. https://hubs.la/Q04m-2p20

👩🍼 Did you know that babies are born with automatic movement patterns called primitive reflexes?
👶 These reflexes, like the startle response and the grasping reflex, are essential for survival and neurological development in the first months of life.
📚 When they integrate properly, they lay the foundation for posture, focus, learning, and emotional regulation.
🧠 When they don't, challenges like attention difficulties, poor coordination, and learning struggles can follow.
✨ At RMTi, understanding reflexes is where everything begins.

Safe & Sound Protocol for coregulation and supporting social engagement, eye contact, sound sensitivity, auditory processing and attention & focus 🤩
The nervous system can relearn safety, shifting something within the self, and in how we show up in relationship with others. That's the quiet power of the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP): it doesn't push, it creates the conditions for healing to unfold.
I’m loving the response my clients are having to the Rest & Restore Protocol 💕 powerful, deep relaxation and connection with themselves 💕

🚼 Before language. Before learning. Before any academic skill...there is movement.
👶 It's the foundation everything else is built on.

⭐ HIGHBURY PRIMARY SCHOOL was the lucky winner of the draw for a free Bloom Consultation from entries at the Engage In Their Future National Conference at the beginning of June.
⭐ It was fantastic to meet with Debbie Sweet (Head), Kirsty Town (Behaviour Lead & DSL) and Sarah Nelson (Deputy Head) in today’s consultation - hopefully the beginning of exciting times ahead for a Bloom X Highbury relationship! We were definitely well aligned 🧠
