Cornfields Day Nursery & Pre-School

As this week is Canal Safety week🦆, the Butterfly children and Educators took a walk to the canal where we read Quack, Quack, Take two steps back which is a book all about Canal Safety😀! The children explained why they think we need to be safe by the canal and how we should walk when on the canal!

Jack - “you need to hold hands on the canal”👋🏼
Poppy - “you should always walk on the path”🚶‍♀️🚶
Annabelle - “you can’t run because you might fall in”

What an amazing experience the Cornfields children and educators have just had😃! A visit from Slaithwaite Fire Station!🚒👨🏼‍🚒

One of the children’s parents who is currently a firefighter👨🏼‍🚒 kindly arranged for himself and a couple of more fire fighters to bring the fire engine to nursery🚒! The children were super excited😁!

When they arrived they had the blue lights🚨 on and they spoke to the children all about the equipment they have on the fire engine🧯, giving us a couple of demonstrations, as well as explaining all about fire safety and the number you should call in an emergency🔥!

The biggest treat was the children were able to have a go at spraying some water from the hose pipe into the car park💦!

We would like to thank Slaithwaite Fire Station for this amazing experience🚒👨🏼‍🚒❤️!

*Butterfly Room Sports Day 2023*
What a lovely afternoon we have had in Spa park for our annual sports day!
We had an egg & spoon race, a sack race, horseshoe toss, throw the beanbag and penalty shoot out, followed by a race and ending with a parent race for those brave enough to join in!!! ⚽️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃
We are very proud of all of the children for their participation and good listening and instruction following skills - Well done, Pre-Schoolers! 🌟🏅🌟
Thank you to those of you that came to support the children, it was lovely seeing so many familiar faces and other family members.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our family at Cornfields Day Nursery as a full time Early Years Educator within our nursery.
You must be calm, caring and enjoy getting messy!
The successful candidate will hold at least a relevant Level 2 qualification and be confident, approachable and trustworthy. It is preferred that you will have a good knowledge of the EYFS and Safeguarding procedures. Paediatric First Aid would be a bonus.
Your role will include working as part of the whole nursery team to ensure that all children attending our setting receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences.

We have enjoyed doing some snow painting this morning, adding paint and glitter to bowls of snow for the children to explore and create.

This morning the Butterfly Room have been on a walk to the Cenotaph in Slaithwaite to lay our Poppy Wreaths❤️, and to mark our respect for soldiers past and present!
At 11:00am we will be taking part in a 2 minute silence to remember those who have fought for our country!❤️
The children also listened to a Remembrance Day story, which explained What Remembrance Day is? And What Happens on Remembrance Day!❤️

Help needed!
We are revamping our outside areas and we’re looking for some cable reels. Do any parents have a job or know someone who would be able to donate some to nursery please.
