March 2025 saw the publication of The Delphi Definition of Dyslexia. I welcome its acknowledgement of the possibility of cooccurring SpLDs, as this aligns with my own assessment rationale. Whenever I assess, I work with the intention of identifying indicators of other difficulties wherever they exist, knowing that my own work is often the starting point for a much wider exploration. This robustness and attention to detail is what makes an assessment with Beam Dyslexia life-changing for children, and for parents like Frederieke.

As Beam Dyslexia closes for a short summer break, I would like to thank all the tuition and assessment clients with whom I have worked over the past academic year for the support they have shown for my company and the work that I do.

It is my privilege to support children with Dyslexia in gaining an understanding of their strengths and challenges and developing their literacy skills, and I look forward to the start of another busy year in September 😊

It felt great to receive such positive feedback last week after delivering Literacy Intervention CPD to support staff in developing children’s reading, spelling & writing. I loved sharing so many activities for multi-sensory learning!

Looking forward to welcoming children back for face-to-face specialist dyslexia tuition this week, with plenty of active learning!

Attending the PATOSS/ Communicate-Ed JCQ Changes to Access Arrangements 2020-21 webinar this week has prepared me to support secondary colleagues with access for students with SpLD over the coming term. Great that live Q&A sessions are planned for next month too.
