We have given away so many awards today to our amazing Year 6s!
⭐️ The Miss Thompson Award for Academic Achievement was shared between Mili and Farhan, who have both been on incredible journeys throughout their time at LJS.
⭐️ The Music Award was shared between Pixie and Henry, who have both shown enthusiasm and talent in their musical endeavours and have represented school on several occasions.
⭐️ Three shared sports awards were given -
✨️The LJS Sporting Endeavour Award was given to Gracie, Harry and Alara;
✨️ The Sporting Leadership Award was given to George, Freddie and Willow;
✨️ The Outstanding Sportsperson Award was given to Roman, Samuel and Zainab.
⭐️ And the brand-new Excellence in Physical Activity Award was presented to George!
⭐️ Finally, the Sports Day trophy was awarded to Bronte - well done to all in Bronte for your wonderful win!

Our Staff vs Pupils Netball Match was a brilliant way to end the term, with lots of fun and friendly competition! The Year 6 team played really well, showing great teamwork, determination and resilience throughout the match. The staff managed to take the win, but the pupils gave it their all and worked hard until the final whistle. Well done to everyone who took part!

This week, Year 5 were extremely privileged to have Dan Lloyd - a BTCC driver and current Independents champion- come to school to talk to them. Dan, from Huddersfield, brought along his trophies, race suit and helmet to show the children.
He spoke to the pupils about his varied racing career through the years from karting to endurance racing to Porsche racing and now as a very successful BTCC driver.

Until 3pm today, Esme in Year 5 is doing a fundraiser at Cadders Hair Salon (New Hey Road, HD3 3XE). They are raising money for Harry in Year 4 and his family, with proceeds split between the family, and Brain Tumour Research UK.
Anyone who goes along this afternoon can have:
⭐️ Children's hair cuts/hair braids for a minimum £5 donation,
⭐️ Glitter tattoos
⭐️ Cakes, cookies, cupcakes and brownies, tea, coffee and juice
⭐️ Esme has a stall with artwork, bracelets, hair accessories, pens and fidgets.

We are really pleased to announce that this year's House Cup has been presented to Rhodes!
Rhodes House were the winners of the half-termly house point competition 3 times this year - huge congratulations to them! Here are this year's Rhodes house and vice captains with their trophy.
