Final day of our tour of Belgium and France.
We started with visiting to Tyne Cot Cemetery where we were able to pay our respects to the fallen.
We then made our way up to P and J chocolate factory- chocolate pizzas made!
We even had a DIY picnic in a French car park! More memories made!
Now en route to Huddersfield from Dover.
A huge well done and congratulations to all of our players who have performed magnificently over 4 performances and have been a pleasure to take on tour. They have had a lot of fun, behaved impeccably and are a credit to their families and Musica Kirklees.
We’ve received many compliments including on the ferry today from other musicians who were observing the Menin Gate Ceremony last night.
Our final thanks are to the wonderful staff who have made this trip happen and have given their own time to make this a successful trip. Without their care, commitment and willingness to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for our players, these trips can’t happen.

Then on to De Panne, a full house, with standing ovations from the very appreciative audience.
Back to Ypres for a bite to eat before we had part of the orchestra having the honour to take part in the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.

Well done to the Youth Orchestra brass section.
Tonight they performed an exceptionally difficult piece, Gabrieli’s Sonata Piano e Forte - well done to each and every player involved!
Thanks to the Mrs Sunderland Festival for providing the opportunity to perform.
