Trains! 🚂

Last week toddlers had lots of fun exploring all things trains. To support their curiosity we set up a big train track filled with autumn leaves and wooden blocks. The toddlers have been loving farm animals so I also added some farm animals for them to play and explore with.

The toddlers enjoyed coming and looking at the trains and the different animals as well as looking at the pictures in the train book.

The toddlers enjoyed pushing the trains along the track, looking at what animals they had and the noises they made as well as joining in with singing old McDonald had a farm.

This activity I focused on the children’s single words as well as their fine motor skills as the pushed the trains and picked up and placed the animals in different places.

We love providing the children with special activities to promote their curiosity and abilities to learn and grow.

There’s something so special about being outside, where little ones can explore, move freely and enjoy the fresh air. 🌱✨

Our little explorer had so much fun on their ride on, building confidence, developing coordination and simply enjoying the freedom of outdoor play.

The Great Big Beach Clean! 🗑️🌊

Last week, we joined in with The Great Big Beach Clean and had lots of fun learning about how we can help to look after our beaches and protect the animals that live there.

The children got stuck in with our very own beach clean sensory activity, using tweezers and their hands to carefully pick up the rubbish and sort it away from our sand and sea. They explored different types of litter and talked about why it is so important that rubbish goes in the bin rather than being left in our oceans and on our beaches.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and understanding of the world, while also encouraging them to think about caring for our environment.

We loved seeing the children taking such an interest in keeping our little beach clean!

From bug hunting to frog discoveries!🌿🐸

Our Preschool children headed into our Forest Garden for a bug hunt and were thrilled to spot some frogs! 🐸 Their discovery sparked a whole new learning interest as the children became fascinated by frogs, ponds and life in the water.

We followed their interests into water play, mark making and creative exploration, giving the children opportunities to investigate, imagine and share their ideas. 💧🎨

We’re so excited to welcome Gruffalo Granny to our Early Years book collection! 🐭🌲

There’s nothing quite like discovering a brand new story, and this one is already bringing plenty of smiles, excitement and lots of opportunities for imaginative play, storytelling and exploring new characters.
