From 1st September 2026, ANY family receiving Universal Credit will be entitled to Free School Meals so you may now be eligible for Free School Meals if you weren't before.

Free School Meal entitlement will now be split into two categories:
1. Targeted support – Students in a family with a household income of less than £7,400. These students will receive Free School Meals and be eligible for wider support from school (for example, additional educational support).
2. Expanded support – Students in a family receiving Universal Credit but with a household income greater than £7,400. These students will receive free school meals but no other additional financial support.

If your child will be bringing a packed lunch to school, please ensure that it contains the right food to give them the energy they need for a day of playing and learning.
