As mentioned in our newsletter, Y5 and 6 have completed our final art session with Golcar Library. We created the sky for a mural that will be in the library garden. Well done!

Year 3 and 4 pupils have been showing off what they already know about modelling with clay. Here they are using techniques such as rolling, carving, cutting and pinching.

This week Year 5 and 6 were lucky enough to have visitors from Artis. They came to help us with our history topic on British Conflict. They re-capped what we had already learnt about the Battle of Hastings, and we freeze-framed the journey of William Duke of Normandy becoming William the Conqueror.

We then moved on to the Wars of the Roses and continued to act out the journey, leading up to Richard III being defeated at the Battle of Bosworth. It was fun and engaging and really helped us to secure our knowledge.

We started off our art project at Golcar Library this week! We have used the library books to firstly trace different animals, before moving on to drawing them freehand. All of these will become part of a mural at Golcar library.

In English, we are learning how to write instructions, so we have imitated a model text. Here we are following the instructions 'How to grow a plant indoors'.
