Half a year. 🤍

Last night I found myself doing what so many business owners do… comparing my journey to everyone else’s.

Then today I gave myself a little reality check.

The Academy Edit is only six months old.

Yes, I’ve been in the beauty industry for almost 19 years and teaching for 12, but this… this is different.

This is my academy.
My vision.
My reputation.
My name above the door.

I put so much pressure on myself because I’m a perfectionist.

Prime example? It took me 45 minutes to make this reel because I kept changing my mind. 😂

I’m constantly thinking about what I could do better, what I haven’t achieved yet, or where I should be by now.

Then I looked back through my camera roll.

I’d actually forgotten so many of these moments because when I’m teaching, I’m completely in the zone. My focus is on my students, the models, the treatments and making sure every single person leaves feeling confident.

Watching these memories back made me realise just how much we’ve achieved in such a short space of time.

People see the highlights, but they don’t always see what’s behind them.

Progress is hard fu***ng graft.

I’m still working full-time while building The Academy Edit in the evenings, on weekends, on annual leave and in every spare minute I have.

But every late night, every mile driven, every lesson planned and every early morning has been worth it.

To every single person who has trusted me enough to train with me, travelled across the country, modelled for treatments, shared my content, recommended me, supported me or simply believed in what I’m building…
