Bishop John will celebrate Mass at weekend Masses in St. Fillan’s. It would be lovely to see as many families in attendance as possible- 5pm Vigil Mass and 9.30 and 11am Sunday Masses.

Good evening everyone. We hope you have enjoyed a nice weekend in the sunshine, albeit still a little chilly! Here are this weeks reminders:This week is Cyberweek Scotland. Each day we will post some useful information around this important topic.
* It’s week 2 for school lunches. We have been advised by catering that the vegetable sausage roll (Wednesday of the week 2 menu) will no longer be available. It is being replaced by macaroni cheese).
*Monday- The P7/6 Fairtrade Committee have organised a fun day today with slots for each class. The participating cost is £1.50 per child or £3.00 per family which can be paid via Parentpay. This is to cover the cost of the Fairtrade fruit kebabs that the child will make and enjoy.
*Tuesday and Wednesday- Two days of planned industrial action for teaching staff, therefore Primary schools in Renfrewshire will be closed.
*Thursday- World Book Day today- The Primary 6/5 class Committee have organised events for today and have requested that the children dress up as a character from a book/bring in a prop from a book, should they wish to do so. Please be advised that there is no obligation for children to participate if they choose otherwise.
*Friday- The children will take part in a live Fairtrade Assembly this afternoon.
After school clubs will take place on all days excluding Tuesday and Wednesday.
Each class is collecting loose change in their SCIAF boxes. We thank the children who have already contributed to this worthwhile cause and our Lenten charity of choice.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Primary 7’s ‘Mass of Enrolment’ at 11am Mass in St. Fillan’s Church. Dressing for excellence would be the preferred attire with the children sitting alongside their families and sponsors. Children are reminded to see Mrs Mackenzie for their letters prior to Mass starting and Father these will be presented to Father Andrew during the Mass. Primary 6 are also welcome to attend as participants in the ‘Pope Francis Faith Award.’ We are looking forward to seeing you in the morning.

The Rookie Rockstars are in the village and the children are having a blast! Tickets for the children’s performance next Thursday 16th February at 6.30pm can be purchased from the school office. If you have requested tickets without payment, please arrange for this to be actioned in order to secure your seat/s. Tickets are priced at £5.00 for adults. Merchandise is available for purchase on the evening and Abby and her team will be selling raffle tickets priced £1.00 for the chance to win and electronic guitar! The children can dress in any attire of their choosing with the exception of football strips. We are looking forward to welcoming you… Rock on!!!

Good evening everyone. We hope you have enjoyed a lovely weekend. Here are this week’s reminders:

*It’s week 1 for school lunches.
*Primary 4 Parents/ Carers- please keep an eye out for correspondence around Thursdays Parent Teacher Conference. We have an important update.
*Tuesday to Thursday - Rookie Rockstars will be working with the children as part of ‘Children’s Mental Health Week Scotland’ and in preparation for their performance on 16th February. Tickets are priced at £5.00 per ticket and can be purchased from the office.
*Wednesday- Safter Internet Day today- children in the middle and upper classes will be exploring this theme as part of our work around being digitally responsible citizens.
Primary 6/5 and 7/6 will work with the Sports Leaders from St. Benedicts for additional PE inputs.
*Friday- ‘Dress to Express’ day as part of our mental health week learning and celebration- children may wear their own clothes (with the exclusion of football strips) and the forfeit would be a £1.00 per child ‘Chuck it in the Bucket’ donation or £2.00 per family. Funds will contribute towards the replenishment of playground equipment.

Just a gentle reminder that dogs are not permitted in the playground for health and safety reasons and as some of our children have anxieties around animals. Dogs are welcome with their owners outwith this area.

Active schools clubs are in full swing and we have nearly filled every space! Well done everyone, this is fantastic participation!
*Wednesday- Primary 6 and 7 Jazz session. Primaries 5-7 PE input from St. Benedict’s Spirts Leaders. Please bring PE kits.
*Friday- First Friday Mass at 9.30am. All are welcome to attend. ‘Dressing for Excellence’ would be our preferred attire if possible.
*Sunday- Primary 4’s Mass of Commitment at 11am in St. Fillan’s Church. It would be lovely if the children could sit with their families and ‘Dress for Excellence’ if possible.

Good evening everyone, we hope you have enjoyed a great weekend. The nights are getting lighter! Here are this weeks reminders…
*The Jan/Feb newsletter is available to view via a link/QR code sent on Parentpay. Also, the Rookie Rockstar tickets are available to purchase this week as per the letter that was sent home in school bags. The children are really excited about this event! Finally, all Active Schools clubs begin this week. The uptake has been fabulous, but there are still a few places. The football and netball clubs are now open to Primary 5 children.
Primary 4 and 7 parents will receive a letter with regard to the rescheduling of the Mass of Commitment (P4) and the Mass of Enrolment (P7).
*It is week 1 of school lunches.
*Wednesday- Primary 6 and 7 Jazz session.
*Friday- Schools are closed for planned Industrial Action.
