This is where the fun begins! We love our new 'Jungle' topic for the last half term of this school year. Today we were making animal masks, walking through the jungle, listening to the sounds of the animals, and finding them amongst the tree vines. We will be looking forward to some more Jungle related activities as the weeks go by.

Ladybirds Class have had a busy, fun week full of a mix of structured activities and independent playtime and exploration. Our children are becoming more independent in following their daily routine and working on their self-help skills. ๐Ÿž

This week at nursery, the children have enjoyed the topic โ€˜I have a petโ€™. This has allowed them opportunities to learn about all the different types of animalsโ€™ people have at home as pets. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฐ
We have shared special times reading books together, fostering literacy skills and engagement. ๐Ÿ“šThe children explored and learned more about pets through a range of sensory experiences and activities including coping animal movements and sounds.๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ•They were painting and decorating pictures of their favourite pets and they explored sensory trays with different textures and materials. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ฆ SPOTLIGHT ๐Ÿ”ฆ on: Cheetahs Class

Cheetahs have had a very exciting half term! They have learnt lots of new skills and demonstrated some amazing talents.

This half term, we have been exploring the story Handaโ€™s Surprise. The children really enjoyed listening to the story and identifying which fruits were taken by the animals. In the final week, the children had the opportunity to taste the different fruits and were able to communicate what they liked and disliked. Bananas were a clear favourite, while the passion fruit was not very popular!

During our topic lessons, Everyone is an Artist, we have been learning about a range of famous artists. The children explored and created artwork inspired by Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Jackson Po***ck, and Yayoi Kusama. Our favourite was Jackson Po***ck, as the children thoroughly enjoyed getting messy with splashing and flicking paint.

In the final weeks of term, we will be learning about different UV artists as we prepare for our dance at the Upper School performance.
