๐ Butterfly Education & Awareness Day at Purple Bees Day Nursery! ๐ฆ๐
Over the past few weeks, the children have been on a wonderful butterfly journey! ๐๐ฆ We welcomed caterpillars into the nursery and carefully looked after them, making sure they had everything they needed as they grew. The children enjoyed observing the changes each day, learning about the butterfly life cycle, and talking about what might happen next. Today, on Butterfly Education & Awareness Day, we were delighted to see our butterflies emerge, giving the children a real-life experience of this amazing transformation. It was a fantastic opportunity to inspire curiosity, patience, and a love of nature.
Fun Fact:
Did you know that a butterfly starts its life as a tiny egg before becoming a caterpillar, then a chrysalis, and finally a butterfly? ๐โก๏ธ๐ฆ This incredible change is called metamorphosis!
Try this at home:
Go on a butterfly hunt in your garden or local park! ๐ผ๐ฆ See how many butterflies you can spot together and talk about their colours, patterns, and where they like to land. You could even draw a picture of your favourite butterfly when you get home.
