Mrs. Cowman’s Classroom
I would like to say a massive thankyou to all of our staff for working so hard!
A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make sure the children we look after are happy, healthy and thriving at Kingsley road.
They all do an amazing job of getting the children ready for their transition to big school ❤️
We are very lucky to have such a great team!
🌟Kingsley road 2023 🌟
Our year at Kingsley road ❤️
As we come to our last few days we take a look back on the memories we’ve made.
A big thank you to all of our amazing staff for their hard work over this year.
We look forward to doing it again next year x
Let’s get messy!!
This week we had a messy play day 🎨
The children and staff enjoyed exploring lots of messy/sensory activities.
We had moon sand, sensory painting, play dough, car painting and shaving foam.
The children had an opportunity to feel the different textures and get themselves messy. Which they love to do ❤️
Lots of fun was had by all!
Daniella (keyworker) has been training to become our forest school lead 🌳
She has been learning lots of great new skills to explore with the children using natural resources and things we find at home 🏠
Daniella has been using her new skills to plan and set up new activities for the children including den building, sensory trays and today she planned a painting activity using food and water.
The children loved exploring the natural paints made from lettuce, lemon and beetroot and then frozen to create coloured ice blocks. They children had an opportunity to paint with them, smell them, look at the different colours made and even feel and taste them!
We can’t wait to see what else Daniella teaches us all ❤️
As we are coming to the end of the year and a lot of our children are leaving us to go to ‘big school’ we are enjoying lots of fun activities ❤️
Today we enjoyed a teddy bears 🧸 picnic
The children and staff brought in their teddies from home and enjoyed a picnic in the big garden 🪴
Eid Mubarak to our wonderful families that are celebrating today, we hope you have a lovely day!🌙✨❤️
This is so true 💙
Always! ❤
Today I (Bella) joined a peaceful protest in parliament square to ask the government for better support of children with additional needs. This is something very close to my heart as the mother of 2 special needs children and working as a senco in our setting for 5 years and making such lovely relationships with parents and children. Ensuring children are given the right education and accsess to essential resources is so important and I am proud to be a voice for children who can’t use theirs ❤️
I’m very proud of how hard all of our staff work daily to be inclusive and adapt our setting to make sure all children are having the same positive experience and outcomes no matter their ability 👏🏼

Is your child starting school in September?
Then it’s time to get school ready.
Being ready for school means lots of things, some of the basic points include your child:
Having good social skills
Being able to cope emotionally with being separated from parents/carers
Is relatively independent with their personal care
Is ready to learn and want to find out more about the world
To help get your child ready for school, come along and join our free parent/carer workshops taking place around the borough.
The topics we will be covering during these friendly and informal sessions include:
Communications skills
Toothbrushing tips
Developmental milestones
Healthy breakfast and snack ideas
Toilet training
There will be a chance to meet the school nurses to discuss issues around your child’s health.
A range of professionals will be on-hand to answer your questions and provide tips.
We will also be handing out goodie bags (one per child) to everyone who attends.

Celebrating the kings coronation at preschool today 👑
Today at preschool we celebrated Eid 🌙
We love learning about all of our differences, celebrations and culture ❤️
Thankyou to all of the parents that brought us in lovely snacks to try from home and letting us learn about your families
The children came dressed in their celebration clothes and enjoyed trying lots of different foods. We also had a great small group time reading our new books about Ramadan and talking about how we celebrate Eid 🌍
The children and staff have had lots of fun learning new yoga poses and following children’s stories through yoga 🧘🏻♀️
Yoga is a great calming activity to get the children active and regulate their emotions. Children learn to be self-aware, participate in group activities, follow instructions and sit and attend.
Thankyou to all the mummy’s that joined us yesterday for our Mother’s Day celebrations 🥰

World Book Day 2023📚🐶🐷🐻🌱🦁🐍🐾
So true! 🧡
So true! 🥰
Enjoying our lovely outdoor space whatever the weather! 🪵🌿🌤️☀️🌨️🌈
Today the children enjoyed lots of physical activities in the garden. Working with our peers building houses by using our blocks and natural materials, digging in the sand shed and sharing experiences on our climbing equipment, slide and see-saw.
The children showed great gross and fine motor skills and showed they are building some lovely friendships which the staff enjoy to watch develop throughout their time with us.
We link this play to our cultural capital, British values and various areas of the birth to 5 matters framework.

All of the children looked great in their PJ’s and we had a lovely cake sale to finish the day with the children and staff helping to bake and sell their cakes 🧁
Thank you parents for all of your generous donations ❤️

Thankyou to all of our families for your support over the last year. We have loved to watch your children grow and wish our leavers the best of luck in their next adventure
Thankyou to all of our staff for the hard work they put in everyday
Laughing with the children, comforting them when they need it, learning and helping them build friendships and positive relationships and teaching them to become confident and resilient young people to move onto big school
We have had a great year and look forward to the next one x
Breakfast at Kingsley 🏫
Today the children enjoyed making their own breakfast of toast and cereal
They showed us their independence skills, buttering their own toast and pouring their cereal and milk 🥛
They then sat in a little group and ate their breakfast together whilst talking about the beautiful weather and our activities for the day.
Today we followed the children’s interests when they asked to make cakes 🧁
We walked to the shop to get our ingredients and popped into the train station on our way where we spoke to the train station staff and looked at the tube maps.
Once back at preschool the children went into small groups to make their cupcakes and will decorate them tomorrow
🙌
Today we took a small group of children to visit Alexandra primary school, where they kindly donated some uniform for us to use in our investigation station and role play area.
This small group will be starting ’big school’ in September so this was a great opportunity for them to see their new school, meet some of the staff and talk about what we can see on our journey.
Helping children transition and move on from us positively 🥰
We even met a lovely police officer 👮♀️ on the way that spoke to the children about staying safe and where to go when you are in danger
Queens platinum Jubilee celebrations at Kingsley road 🇬🇧👸
