A mini safari led to the welcome of some new visitors this morning in the shape of ladybirds at various stages of their lifecycle, and as a result we revisited the ladybug game...one of our favourites 😄. We also continued our seaside theme at the craft table as well as the ever popular picture hunt and sandpit! Meanwhile, fun on the slide had no age limit!!

It has been lovely to welcome back past friends who have joined us for some holiday fun as well as our regulars 🥰.
Today we have started a seaside theme, using white, blue and green glass pebbles to create wave patterns as well as a limited colour palette of shades of blue to make a sea painting. We have made knickerbocker ice-creams at the games table as well as the ever-popular sand pit and some clever young people managed to hang all the monkeys on the tree without any of them falling off 😲! Caterpillar game in action!

Following on from the release of our butterfly (😢 only one made it this year from caterpillar to butterfly) we have carried on with our butterfly theme. There were squeals of delight as our caterpillar game wriggled and challenged our hand/eye co-ordination, and our creativity was released in our butterfly paintings (see what I did there?). Budding stylists were also captivated by our hairdressing/beauty corner 🥰. I wonder what we will be exploring tomorrow? Come and join us on our next adventure 😁.

Looks like we got them into their new home just in time! A new arrival this afternoon 😲.

This week we have two chrysalis waiting to hatch. And they have been moved to their new home 😄. Super excited 🫣!! Can't wait for next week when, hopefully, the wait will be over!

One week on and our caterpillars have grown rapidly and the first one has tonight attached itself to the lid, formed the j-shape and is ready to spin it's cocoon!

As we continue through our '30 days Wild ' we welcomed our annual visitors...Painted Lady caterpillars...which will stay with us until they become butterflies 🦋, as well as a lively trio of garden snails 🐌 who captured our attention with their antics! We used our guests, and the artwork of Henri Matisse, to create beautiful, shiny, colourful snail pictures.

As part of our '30 days Wild' celebrating all things Wild and Wonderful we had the opportunity at thus morning's session to examine flowers up close and personal 😄 as well as play a flower growing, colour matching game. I wonder what other ideas everyone will come up with before next week 🤔!
