As we approach the next exciting stage of our nursery development, we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful families for your patience, understanding and support throughout our building project. 💛

It has been an incredibly exciting, and very busy few months as we have worked hard to create something special for our children and families. We are delighted to share that the refurbishment of our original nursery building is progressing beautifully, and we are getting closer to seeing the finished nursery come together.
Soon we will have;
🌿 New flooring throughout
🌿 A brand-new outdoor classroom for our Puddle Duck Pre-School Room
🌿 Freshly plastered and beautifully refreshed walls
🌿 Brand-new children's toilets
🌿 An extended and improved kitchen
🌿 Improved facilities and spaces for our wonderful team
🌿An outdoor classroom
🌿 New nursery signage coming very soon!
Our nursery puppy Prince has been to nursery to inspect the standard of work!🐶

Our children's familiar key people, friends, routines and relationships will continue to be at the centre of their nursery experience, helping every child to feel safe, secure and excited about their new surroundings. 🌈
We have also loved involving the children throughout the building project.
Thank you, as always, for believing in us, supporting us with such positive feedback and being part of the Chilton Meadows family. We truly couldn't have reached this point without you. 💚

📢 BANK HOLIDAY REMINDER
Just a little reminder that Chilton Meadows Day Nursery will be CLOSED on Monday 31st August for the August Bank Holiday.
We hope you all have a wonderful long weekend and enjoy some special family time. ☀️🌿

🌿✨ WOW… what an amazing first week in our new extension! We're absolutely overjoyed with the incredible support we have received and the wonderful feedback from our children, parents, grandparents and, of course, our fabulous team. 💚
Everyone has adapted so beautifully, and it has been fantastic to see the children exploring, enjoying and making the new spaces their own. 🥰
Some of our favourite feedback from the children so far has included:
💬 “There’s a warm fuzzy feeling when I come into nursery.”
💬 “I love our nursery and our nursery family!”
💬 “Our car park looks upside down now!”

And while we’ve been busy celebrating the opening of our beautiful new extension, Phase Two of our refurbishment is already well underway thanks to the brilliant team at Rippon Construction! 🏗️✨
The transformation of our new Duckling Room, Puddle Duck Pre-School Room and outdoor classroom has begun, and we can’t wait to see it all come together ready for September. 🌱🪵🦆

And finally… we must apologise to our Nest Baby Room!
In all the excitement of sharing videos and photos of our new extension, we somehow managed to miss them out! Not that our Room Lead Amy has been reminding us of this ALL WEEK! 🤣👶🪺

Every day is a play day!
Today is Play Day, the national day for play, and our Puddle Ducklings and Puddle Duck Pre-School children have been doing exactly what children do best... playing! 💚
Our outdoor spaces have been full of imagination, adventure and laughter as the children:
🌊 Crossed vast oceans on the balance beams.
🍲 Cooked up delicious imaginary feasts in our outdoor play kitchen.
🦕 Chased dinosaurs through the long grasses.
🌼 Created stories, solved problems and brought their wonderful imaginations to life through play.
Play is so much more than fun. It builds confidence, encourages communication, develops physical skills, inspires creativity and helps children make sense of the world around them.
At Chilton Meadows Day Nursery, we believe childhood should be filled with opportunities to explore, imagine and discover, and today has been a perfect reminder of the magic that happens when children are given the time and freedom to play.
And the adventures are only just beginning... 🌿 We're so excited that, over the coming weeks, we'll be opening the rest of our outdoor gardens, giving the children even more space to explore, create, discover and let their imaginations run wild. We can't wait to see the memories they'll make in our wonderful new outdoor environments!

Latest statistics show working families using Tax-Free Childcare saved an average of almost £100 a month.

💛 "This is the best day ever!" Those were the words of one of our wonderful Puddle Duck Pre-School children during their School Leavers' Celebration. Another child smiled and said they "wanted the day to go on forever." 💚

And honestly... we couldn't have wished for a more perfect day.🌞
Our school leavers spent the day at the beautiful Joe's Pond and Rainton Meadows, enjoying a nature hunt, pond dipping (we even caught a fish!!!), mini beast exploring and time together in the park. They discovered fascinating wildlife, explored different habitats and, most importantly, made memories with their friends before they begin their exciting journey to school.

Back at the visitor centre, the celebrations continued with a graduation party tea, games, laughter and plenty of smiles as we celebrated everything they have achieved during their time with us.

Watching our children grow from nervous little Ducklings into Puddle Ducks, confident, kind and curious young people ready for school is one of the greatest privileges of what we do. While it's always emotional to say goodbye, we couldn't be prouder of every single one of them.

To our Puddle Duck graduates... thank you for letting us be part of your story.📖 We know you'll go on to do amazing things, and you'll always have a special place in the Chilton Meadows family. 💛🦆
Good luck, Class of 2026, we'll miss you so much!

🌿We've had so much fun completing 30 Days Wild! 🌼 The children have loved spending lots of time outdoors, exploring our new stepping stones and balance beams, and our brand-new Chilton Meadows Beach sandpit has definitely been the favourite this week! 🏖️💚🦖
A huge thank you to all of our wonderful families for your continued support while our extension takes shape. We really do appreciate it! ❤️

We're excited to share that the plastering is now complete, painting will be starting soon, our new staff room has been fitted, and our new flooring throughout the nursery is due to be installed in mid-July. Things are really coming together thanks to our amazing team and the team at Rippon Construction.

The children have loved hearing about the progress each day. Our curious Puddle Duck Preschool children even chose construction-themed jigsaw puzzles this week, enjoying conversations about building, designing, and creating. 👷🧩
We can't wait to show you the finished result. Thank you for being part of our journey!

🌞🦋🌿What another wild and wonderful week we’ve had at Chilton Meadows Day Nursery! The children in the Puddle Duck Preschool Room have been exploring the amazing world around us, becoming little nature detectives and discovering some of the tiniest treasures in our outdoor environment. 🌼

We’ve spotted the most beautiful insects, from the fascinating stripes on fuzzy bees 🐝 to the colourful spots on our friendly ladybirds 🐞. The children have loved observing, wondering, and learning about the incredible creatures that share our world.

Our green-fingered Puddle Ducks have also been busy growing their own delicious produce! 🌱🥕 We’ve nurtured carrots, peas, butternut squash, and strawberries, watching them grow from tiny seeds into tasty treats ready to enjoy. 🍓✨
We’re so proud of our little explorers for caring for our planet and discovering just how much magic can be found right on our doorstep. 💚🌍

🌿We’ve been busy this weekend, we’re so excited to share a little garden update and the new spaces we’ve been creating for the children to enjoy. 💚
Our outdoor storytelling area is already becoming a lovely cosy spot for children to relax, share stories and enjoy some quiet time outdoors. 📚🌱
The ‘clubhouse dens’ named by the children, are wonderful additions, giving the children a space to let their imaginations run wild, creating their own adventures. 🏡✨
And our brand-new mud kitchen is finally here! We can’t wait to see what wonderful creations the children make, from muddy pies to magical potions and everything in between! 🌸🪴
It’s been lovely watching our garden come together, and we’re so excited for all the fun, learning and memories that will be made here over the coming weeks. ☀️💚

🌿What a wonderful week we’ve had! We’ve continued our adventures taking part in The Wildlife Trust's , celebrating the little moments of wonder that nature brings. 🐝🌱
We were so excited to welcome a surprise visitor when a duck landed on our brand-new extension! 🦆 We think they may have been stopping by to check on the builders👷 and the progress of the build… or perhaps making sure everything was up to standards!😀
The team have also been reconnecting with their childhood creativity, experimenting with making rose petal potion ice moulds ready for our exciting new mud kitchen, which arrived today! Yay! 🌸🧊
We can’t wait to get it built over the weekend and see the children enjoying plenty of imaginative outdoor play in the sunshine next week. ☀️🌿
