Special iApps We were a non-profit creating educational apps specially designed to support children with SEND Sadly, in 2023, Special iApps C.I.C.

was placed in administration and went into voluntary liquidation. The company is no longer trading. Thank you to everyone who supported us. Special iApps was founded in 2011 by Beverley Dean MBE and Dr Colin Dean. The company specialised in developing apps that were accessible and adaptable to any child's developmental stage. We worked very closely with parents, teachers, speech and language therapists, and many other professionals to develop all our apps.

📢 Important Announcement 📢

We deeply appreciate your incredible support over the past decade. However, we regret to inform you that Special iApps. has entered liquidation.

As of Friday 29th September, Special iApps web apps will no longer be accessible. Please export your content from the apps before Friday 29th September, as described in the user guides at https://www.specialiapps.org/en/user-guides.

The Makaton Charity has made an offer to acquire the intellectual property rights of the Apps and will be completing the purchase from the Liquidators on 29th September, 2023.

The Makaton Charity has expressed a desire to relaunch the Apps at a later date allowing Special iApps to flourish again. Stay tuned for updates on The Makaton Charity website makaton.org
