Year 5 had a wonderful time at Roker today! We enjoyed a lovely walk past the mouth of the Wear, along the marina and on to the seafront. πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸŒŠ

We were lucky enough to spot dolphins 🐬 and had lots of fun exploring the rock pools! πŸ¦€ It was a fantastic day full of adventure, exploration and making memories.

This week, Year 3 have been busy putting their DT skills into practice! πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸ₯§ The children used their own designs to create delicious seasonal tarts, carefully choosing and preparing their ingredients. They really enjoyed seeing their plans come to life and were very proud of their finished creations!

❀️ We also took part in Show Racism the Red Card Day, wearing red to show our support and raise awareness. The children explored the importance of kindness, respect, equality and celebrating our differences, recognising that racism has no place in our school or community.

Well done, Year 3! πŸ‘πŸŒŸ

In English this week, Year 6 have been exploring Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. 🎭

We explored key events from the story and used our oracy skills to discuss the different emotions the characters might have experienced at various points in the play. We shared our ideas, listened to different perspectives and considered how the characters’ feelings might influence their actions.

We then used these emotions and ideas to write diary entries from the perspective of a character, bringing their thoughts, feelings and reactions to life through our writing! ✍️
