New View Nursery

Today we talked about the first day of autumn and thought about some of the changes we might begin to notice around us.

We became bug explorers, searching amongst the leaves, soil and woodland floor for signs of minibeasts. Using our Our Living Soils book, by Emma Rosen, we looked at the different creatures we might discover and then set off to see what we could find.

The children were excited to discover worms, beetles, a wasp nest and spiders’ webs. We carefully collected some of the minibeasts in our bug containers with magnifying lids, allowing us to look closely at their bodies, legs and movements before returning them safely to where we found them.

🌿✨ If you go down to the woods today… ✨🌿

There’s a magical new adventure waiting! 🧚‍♀️🌳

Our woodland has had a little makeover, with a cosy teepee, mini stage and seating area — ready for stories, songs, performances, picnics and plenty of imaginative play! 🏕️🎭📚

We can’t wait to see where their imaginations take them… 💚✨

Let the woodland adventures begin!

Dear Parents and Families,

Unfortunately, due to essential building works at North Heath Hall, we have had to delay the start of our new term.

We will now reopen on Monday 7th September 2026.

We appreciate this may be inconvenient and apologise for the change to our plans. However, the works involve drilling and other unavoidable noise, and we feel it is important that the children return to a safe, calm and settled environment.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 7th September!

Kind regards,

Sharon & the New View Nursery Team

🌘✨ ECLIPSE WATCHING THIS EVENING! ✨🌘

There’s something rather exciting happening in the sky this evening — a solar eclipse! 🌞🌑

If your little ones are interested in watching, it’s a wonderful opportunity to talk about space, the Sun and Moon, and what happens when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. 🚀🌙

But please remember — looking directly at the Sun can seriously damage children’s eyes. 👀☀️

A lovely little reminder that the world around us is full of fascinating things to discover! 🌍✨

Stay safe and enjoy the sky! 💛

Another school year comes to an end! 🌟

What a journey it’s been—filled with learning, laughter, challenges, growth, and so many unforgettable memories. I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved this year.

A huge thank you to all the team, families, and everyone who has supported us along the way. Wishing all our students a well-deserved summer break. Stay safe, have fun, and make lots of wonderful memories.

Our children enjoyed a fabulous Water Party to celebrate our School Leavers of 2026. Our garden provided the perfect environment for this exciting outdoor experience, where the children eagerly filled their water guns, soaked their sponges, and took great delight in spraying the adults. So much fun! 💦🤩💦😅💦😊💦😎

It was such a lovely hour of messy, imaginative play. The children were completely absorbed in what they were doing, showing fantastic teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and independence while having lots of muddy fun!
