It can be an anxious time for them every year, but all the more this year with the huge changes they’ve endured over the last 6 months. So it’s no surprise that we’ve had more parents than ever looking for some loving aids to help their children regulate their worries and feel reassured.

Our worry dolls and little felt hearts & rainbows are perfect tokens to pop into school bags or uniform pockets to remind your child they’re safe. And I know we share this every year, but our little trick of “charging up your hearts” when you say goodbye to your child at the school/nursery gate, remains my favourite way to fill up my children’s emotional cup before we depart for the day 🥰

🍎 This week saw lots of getting-to-know-you activities and games to practise controlling the screen. There was also an in-depth debate about ice cream flavours and an impromptu scavenger hunt that had me dashing around the kitchen. It has been so lovely to see some familiar faces and to meet some new ones too! 🍎

⭐Monday Motivation - a little reminder of how great you are!⭐

Tackling negative numbers on a Friday evening. My tutees’ enthusiasm never ceases to impress me!

What started out as a quick ‘brain break’ activity of ‘who can flick their magnet the furthest?’ turned into a super fun game for practising mental addition strategies, designed entirely by E. We eventually had to agree a target of 300, otherwise we could easily have played for the entire session!

Well done to all of the Year 6 pupils I have had the pleasure to teach this year. Remember, SATs are not a measure of how ‘clever’ you are, nor can they measure qualities that are so important in everyday life - things like creativity, determination, compassion...

No matter what your results are, you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves and your achievements. Enjoy your last weeks of primary school... and have the best summer, ready for the next adventure!
