I am a childminding service based in Broadbridge heath who aims to create a home from home environment where your little one can have the opportunity to learn through play.

This week At Alex’s childminding we have…..

- been to visit and feed the ducks! We love just watching them and hearing them quack! 🦆 we also loved a little walk around and spoke
About the changing colours of the trees and what happens in autumn! We also stopped off for a play at the park before heading home.
- we visited a new playgroup on Tuesday where we got to use our imagination to play with the castles and car garage, we made lots of dinner for each other, did a sticking activity and got to enjoy the ride ons with friends.
- we visited the family centre and had lots of fun in their garden! We got to fish for boats and fish in the water tray and make lots of dinner using the mud kitchen, we got to take part in painting, colouring, stepping stones, ride ons and enjoyed the playhouse.
- we went to our usual playground where the children learnt a little bit about harvest and giving to those in need. We all took a tin of food as a donation and got to give it out during song time. We made our own harvest wreaths, played with rice to find the hidden vegetables, we also loved puzzles, threading and the role play area.

We have also enjoyed lentil play feeding our autumn animals, garden play, practicing our writing skills and number recognition and thy enjoy wheels car set.

This week at Alex’s childminding we have…

- we have started to explore and learn about autumn this week as we are now officially in autumn 🙂 🍁 . We started this off by going on an autumn walk to see what we could find! We saw lots of leaves on the floor ranging from green to brown and spoke about how the leaves fall from the trees in the autumn and won’t grow back until spring! We also spoke about trees that keep their leaves all year round which are called ‘evergreen trees’. we found sticks, acorns, pinecones and conkers! The children loved collecting these and we have added them to our autumn treasury basket!

- we have had fun at the park with friends, we love being outdoors, free to run, climb, jump and explore all the play equipment! We even did some outdoor painting and used sticks, feathers and even leaves to paint with rather than paint brushes! We made some lovely pieces of artwork!

- we have been to Wild tots this week, we loved getting involved with the autumn activities such as making caterpillars out of leaves, play-dough, conker rolling, water play with jugs, the gruffalo in the logs, chalk drawing, diggers and enjoyed some singing at the end 🙂

- we ended the week at our usual playgroup where we got to play with dinosaurs, paint our own autumn leaves, pretend play with the doctors and construction set, cars and tunnels!

This week at Alex’s childminding we have….

- been to see all the ducks and geese! We practised our counting (turns out there were to many to count as they kept on moving 😂) we also fed them which made us all
Laugh! They ate all our food up very quickly! we then had a play at the park with friends before heading home.

- we went to a play barn where we loved the ball pit, ride on tractors (where we got to practice our pedalling skills) and sliding down the big slide! We also went to see the goats who came and said hello to us!

- we had a walk around Nymans spying what logs we could climb and balance on 😂 we also had a play in the play glade and enjoyed all the different activities. Especially the little house where we roll played selling and eating ice cream 🍦 we also loved the bean bag toss to knock down the cans and the stepping stones.

- we ended the week at our usual playgroup where we got to play with the farm
Animals in rice and lentils, made our own turtles to take home, play with the cars, books, puzzles and role play cooking in the little
Kitchen and shop area.

Wow two weeks into September already! Time is going so fast! As much as I love autumn, this is the time of year where those pesky germs come up again!

Now while I don’t exclude for a cold this is just a polite notice to take your little one and their friends into consideration when deciding if they are well enough to attend. We have busy days and it can take its toll if they are not feeling 100%. Let’s all do our part to make sure everyone stays well 😊

Ready for another week to start tomorrow! Lots of fun to be had! 😊

This week at Alex’s childminding we have…..

- been focusing on emotions this week, focusing on understand why we feel how we feel and how we know what someone else feels. We practised making different faces, and even worked on drawing our own face!
- we took a vote on what to do Monday and the children said they wanted to see cows so off to the cows we went! We also saw ducks and sheep! We loved feeding and stroking the cows and were very brave! We then had a little play in the park before heading home!
- we spent a very rainy day at springboard with friends! We loved jumping in the soft
Play room, role playing ‘working’ and ‘making ice cream’ in the role play area and of
Course the cars were a hit at per usual 😂
- we visited a new playgroup where we had loads of fun playing with the water tray, going on the trikes, trying on the many different role play outfits, using glue and scissors, scooping and pouring rice in the messy tray and exploring the sensory tent with torches!
- we ended the week in our usual playgroup where we got engaged with the sand tray with the diggers, balanced over stepping stones, did some dancing and singing, threading and got to make our own sticking pictures to take home!

We have also loved…..

This week at Alex’s Childminding, we have….

- we visited little Hampton and enjoyed the last day of school holidays for 2 of my mindees! We loved crabbing and even caught some fish! We were very brave with handling the fish and the crab carefully! We talked about what they felt like, looked like and what they liked to eat! This was a great activity that they all enjoyed!

- we even got a play in the splash park! We all got soaked running through the sprinklers and paddling in the paddle bit! Nothing a change of clothes wouldn’t fix! 😂

- we had a play at little street where we got to use our imaginations and role play little stories with each other in each of the sections! We loved the big fire engine, the ride ons, the dress up music room and the hairdressers the most!

- we got back to our usual playgroup! The children loved exploring the activities which included water play with tweezers, making flower vases , puzzles, balance beams and the car garage!

This week at Alex’s childminding we have…..

- had a blast at soft play! We loved being able to run and climb safety as well as practise our risk taking skills properly! We also learnt about turn taking, helping and playing with others! Great fun was had by all 🙂
- we had great fun at the farm with friends in the sun! We got to play with trikes, play on the play equipment, enjoyed the slides at soft play and see some animals in the barn! We also enjoyed a lovely picnic together before heading home.
- we loved bouncing at our active bounce session! We loved jumping high and landing on our bottoms, climbing up and sliding down the big slide and loved the ride ons! We were so good at walking all the way to and from the leisure centre and even got to go through a tunnel on the way which we loved shouting in to hear our own echos!
- we have loved some messy play activities this week including cornflour play, paining, colour mixing, water paining and water play in the mud kitchen! (Alex doesn’t mind mess 🙈 😂)

This week at Alex’s Childminding, we have……

- had an awesome visit to the local fire station! The children got to explore and go in the big fire truck and the fire jeep! We got to try on the breathing masks and learn about what some of the tools are used for!
We got a little tour around the station and found their locker rooms with their uniform hanging up very fascinating 😂. We also got to test out the hoses and spray the water just like real firefighters! 🧯

- we made our own little fire engines out of tissue paper and explored the fire role play set to create our own stories with!

- we took a visit to play town, we loved exploring all the different role play areas! Especially the soft play bit, slide and ride ons! We also enjoyed looks of role Play cooking and eating as well as digger and dinosaur play!

- we took a walk to the local shop and even found a few puddles to jump in with the bit of rain we had! The children loved looking around the shop and taking charge of what we needed to buy. They also loved helping me scan the food at checkout! We brought biscuits, choose the colours of the food colouring and chose our own sprinkles! We then walked home and iced our win biscuits which we enjoyed as a yummy treat after lunch as well as taking some home for mummies and daddies! Hope everyone enjoyed (if you got a taste 😂)

- we finished the week off at a little playgroup where we got to climb, slide, go on ride ons, go on the car rollercoaster, explore the garden area and play cars.

We have also loved doing big floor puzzles this week as well as magnetic blocks and building towers with normal blocks Working on our counting, colours and shapes! We also enjoyed knocking these down 😂

This week at Alex’s childminding we have…….

- talked lots about holidays as some of us have been or will be going on holiday very soon! This involved lots of summer activities and our holiday topic table!

- we visited wakehurst where we got to play in the mud kitchen, watch the ducks swim by, climbed through the tree truck forest and take a walk amongst the lovely flowers.

- we spent a morning at wot a mess - an outdoor playgroup in the woods! The children had great fun in their many water trays, role play areas, slides and climbing frames, we explored dinosaur lands, mud kitchen making soups, play houses and crafts! We ended the session with an ice lolly!

- we had a blast at the Amberley Museum! The children got to explored old vehicals and even sit on a few! We got to explore the electricity area and explored buttons which made sounds and lights! We got to go on a train ride and took the bus around! We even took part in some pottery making!

- we did a fun day the our local church with many different summer activities going on! We did playdough, colouring, cars, sand, water, made a turtle out of putty, balls and ride ons and many garden games!

This week at Alex’s childminding we have…..

- spent time at some play parks enjoying the sunshine! We have loved practising our climbing and are getting so good at our balancing and problem solving skills.

- we have enjoyed blackberry picking and enjoying these as a tasty snack!

- we said hello and got very brave in stroking and holding a real bearded dragon! We spoke about how he felt and an older mindee gave a little talk about what he likes to eat, where he lives, how old he is, and showed us how to hold him correctly.

- we enjoyed some lovely activities as the family centre which involved water play using balls, jugs and tubes, we have enjoyed painting, colouring, building towers and exploring the cars and role play area as well as a little play in the sensory room.

- we had a blast at the paddling pool at the beach! We enjoyed staying cool whilst splashing in the water. We also had a special treat and did a few of the rides along the coast which we all loved!!

- we enjoyed rhyme time at our local library! We enjoyed exploring all the musical instruments and joining in on singing and the actions to some of our favourite songs!

We have also loved playdough, magnetic blocks, racetrack, train track and practising our cutting using scissors this week at Alex’s house 🙂
