We recently took part in the Reindeer Run to support St Catherine's Hospice. The children had great fun finding Christmas themes items in the woods. They also enjoyed listening to a story and having a hot chocolate by the fire.

Families of children with SEND are warmly welcomed to the Horsham Family Hub's Christmas Event detailed below.

Many of our parents attended the Summer Event and would recommend this lovely local offering.

We will be sharing other services provided by the Horsham Family Hub over the coming weeks so please do drop by and see for yourselves what is available.


Horsham Library run a Singalong session on the first Saturday of the month. This includes rhymes, songs and musical instruments. What a fun opportunity!

The wheels on the bus 17/11/2023

Friday's nursery rhyme is The Wheels on the Bus. We will sing the song and create bus role-play areas. We will also talk about environmental sounds, such as horns beeping and brakes squeaking. What environmental sounds can your children hear at home? Perhaps they can hear a toaster popping or keys jingling.

We are raising money for BBC Children in Need.

On Friday 17th November children are invited to wear spots. They can be SPOTacular! Children may wear spotty socks or hair accessories, for example.

Please donate cash on the day at nursery, or use the BBC donation page online.


Wednesday's nursery rhyme is Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. We will use different dynamics to sing loudly and softly. We will also explore tempo by singing fast or slow.

Monday's nursery rhyme is Jack and Jill. We will sing the song and explore capacity by filling and emptying buckets with water.

This morning the lovely Sam from Happily Ever After joined our up to 2's for some storybook fun and magic!

Sam is a regular visitor to Horsham Nursery School and we always enjoy her visits!

We have short presentations from a range of services who offer support for families of children with SEN as well as chance to mingle and chat with the SENCO, SSC teacher and other families - plus there will be cake!

A belated but HUGE THANK YOU to Sam at Happily Ever After for finishing Book Week with a magical whoosh, swish and smile.

The whole of the nursery enjoyed sessions with Sam on Friday throughout the day and captivated the children with singing, stories, magic and dancing.

We hope you have been able to explore the free World Book Day book collection in the local shops and are enjoying reading at home.

Did you know we run a Baby and Toddler Group at Horsham Nursery School on Wednesday mornings during term time.

This week we have a wonderful festive setup for you to enjoy with your little ones in the warm so please do come and join us.


Here are the key dates as we move into the final festive weeks:

Post Box Walks - week of 5-9th December - there is a parent helper sign up sheet on the front entrance, we need as many hands as we can muster please.

Wednesday 7th December - Christmas Lunch (yummy)

Wednesday 7th December - Christmas Concert: performances at 9.30am, 11.30am, 3.30pm with entrance by ticket only and please arrive a little earlier to enjoy a mince pie first!

Christmas Grotto visits: December 12th – 16th (Up to 3’s) & Dec 19th-23rd (Up to 2’s)

Christmas parties: December 14th (Up to 3’s and Over 3’s)

16th December - End of term for Over's
23rd December - Whole Nursery Closed for Christmas at 6pm

4th January - Nursery doors open for a brand new year of fun!

Christmas preparations are in full swing at Horsham Nursery School.
On Wednesday the staff and children donned their antlers and took part in a charity 'Reindeer Run' (which was more of an antler amble).
What a wonderful wander through a winter wonderland it was as we spied a whole host of Christmassy objects!

Don't forget, this was all the raise much needed funds for St Catherine's Hospice, who kindly donated a pair of antlers for each child. There is still chance to make donation if you're able to by following the link below:


We would like to give a special mention to Nicki and Amy, our wonderful staff elves who gave up an enormous amount of their own time to make this such an enchanting event!
