It's GCSE RESULTS DAY!😊
Another very proud day at Farlington as our Year 11 students collect their GCSE results. 👏
With 51% of grades at 9-7, 94% at 9-4 and +0.9 value added, there is plenty to celebrate, and, most importantly, so many individual stories of progress, hard work and achievement. 💫
Today, we’re celebrating the students themselves: the challenges they’ve overcome, the opportunities they’ve embraced and the progress they’ve made along the way.
For many of our students, the next chapter will begin at Farlington Sixth Form, where they’ll continue to build on everything they’ve achieved so far. 💙
Well done, Year 11 - you should be incredibly proud! 🎉

From places at UCL, Oxford Brookes, the University of Manchester, New York University and beyond, our Sixth Form students are heading towards an exciting range of university destinations this autumn. ✈️🎓
Our Head Students, Bethan and Iona, are two brilliant examples of the different paths and possibilities a Farlington education can support. Iona is heading to the University of Plymouth to study Medicine, while Bethan is deferring her place reading Sociology at Cardiff University to pursue her ambition of becoming an RAF fighter jet pilot.💫
Their journeys are different, but throughout their time at Farlington, they have been supported and encouraged to explore their interests, build confidence and pursue their own ambitions.👏🏼
We’re so proud of all of our students' achievements and excited to see where their individual journeys take them. 😊
And tomorrow, we turn our attention to our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results, the next step in their own Farlington journey, with so many opportunities still ahead. 💙

We’re incredibly proud of our Year 13 students, who are celebrating an excellent set of A-Level results today.
While only some of our students were able to collect their results in person at school today, we are incredibly proud of the achievements of the whole year group, wherever they are celebrating.
🌟 44% of grades at A*-A
🌟 73% at A*-B
🌟 100% pass rate
🌟 +0.9 value added, with 65% of grades at least one grade above the expected baseline
Our students have worked incredibly hard, both academically and beyond the classroom, and we’re delighted to see them heading on to an exciting range of next steps, including Medicine, Civil Engineering, Economics, Architecture and Illustration at universities including Exeter, Plymouth, UCL and Oxford Brookes.
For others, the next chapter will take a different route, including a prestigious City internship and RAF jet fighter pilot training.
Huge congratulations to our whole Year 13 cohort, and thank you to our wonderful staff and families for supporting them throughout their Farlington journey. 💙
We can’t wait to see what they achieve next! 🎓✨

We’re incredibly proud to have been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag (with distinction!) for the second consecutive year, a wonderful recognition of our whole-school commitment to sustainability. 💚
From creating wildlife habitats and planting hundreds of trees, to reducing waste, leading environmental initiatives and embedding sustainability across the curriculum, our pupils have embraced every opportunity to make a positive impact.👏🏼
The judges also praised our Gardening Club, whose work has developed spaces within our grounds that support both biodiversity and wellbeing, while helping our students develop practical skills, confidence and a firm connection with nature. 🌱
This achievement reflects the enthusiasm, creativity and dedication of our entire school community, from our Nursery to Sixth Form. Congratulations to Mrs Edgar and the Eco Council, and everyone who has played a part in making Farlington a greener place to learn and grow. 🌍

While we're all trying to stay cool in this week's heatwave, we've been looking back at some of our favourite moments from the end of the summer term and remembering a day when waterproofs were far more useful than sun cream! 🌧️☀️
Back in June, our Year 8 geographers spent the day exploring the River Tillingbourne, getting hands-on with river processes as they investigated meanders, river cliffs and slip-off slopes in the field.
The adventure continued with an afternoon of kayaking on the River Cuckmere, and when the heavens opened, it certainly added to the experience! Thankfully, the rain didn't dampen spirits, with our students embracing every moment with enthusiasm, resilience and plenty of smiles. 🛶
The trip was a brilliant example of how learning outside the classroom can bring subjects to life, build confidence and create lasting memories with friends.💙

The bounty hunters have assembled... ⭐🪐
Our young Mandalorians proudly donned their finished helmets as they prepared for their final mission, and we couldn't resist giving them a backdrop worthy of a galaxy far, far away! 🚀
After a week of coding, designing, building and problem-solving with the brilliant team at Mindstorm Coding, our students have shown incredible creativity, resilience and teamwork every step of the way.
This is the way. 💫

This week, our DT workshop has been transformed into a Mandalorian base camp! 🚀⚙️
Our young coders, led by the fantastic team at Mindstorm Coding, are combining coding, creativity and engineering to forge their own Mandalorian helmets complete with movement and sound. Along the way, they've programmed droid companions, designed escape games for Grogu, built safe havens and recorded custom sound effects, all leading up to their final bounty report!
It's been incredible to see so much imagination, problem-solving and teamwork in action.
This is the way. ⭐

Congratulations to Spain on a fantastic World Cup victory! 🇪🇸🏆
Their win over Argentina was thoroughly deserved, with a team performance that combined exceptional talent, determination and respect throughout the tournament. 💫
Watching the celebrations last night brought back happy memories of our recent trip to Madrid, where our Year 7 and 8 students had the incredible opportunity to visit the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Standing in one of football's most famous arenas gave them a real appreciation of Spain's passion for the beautiful game, making this victory feel even more special.❤️💛
¡Enhorabuena, España! ⚽👏
