This morning I received great news that I’ve been accorded a new status of 𝐏𝐆𝐀 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 by the Professional Golfer’s Association, which I’m over the moon about!⁣
⁣
I applied over the winter through the PGA Excel process and have been recognised for my achievements and what I’ve done in my coaching career to date. ⁣
⁣
Completing the application was interesting because I’m not really the sort of person to ‘gloat’ about my successes, I tend to share them with my close group or to myself only. On occasion, I also feel like I’m not really ‘doing enough’ for my career, even more so now I’ve got a family and time is very much of the essence and they are my priority.⁣
⁣
By having to look back over the last 13/14 years of my career from completing my Golf Management degree onwards, it has made me realise that I actually have done a lot and most of the ‘doing enough’ worries I have shouldn’t beat me up at all. Over time I’ve managed to build up a good knowledge and experience base and met lots of great people (some of whom provided supporting testimonies for my application - thank you all!) and on reflection I’m doing alright. ⁣
⁣
To any coaches out there who think a bit like that too, I’d highly recommend the process of going back through everything you’ve done and writing it out - I’m sure it will help you to feel and realise you are more accomplished in what you do.⁣

Lee Wilson, one of our Senior PGA coaches at Horsham Golf, shares how to add power and more length to your tee shots! Here are Lee's top 3 tips!
🏌️ Strike the centre of the face - mish*ts cause the most significant distance losses!
🏌️ Make sure you are launching the ball correctly. If it’s too low or too high, you may be losing carry distance. From a spin point of view, aim for between 2200 to 2600 rpm - these parameters will vary slightly according to swing speed.
🏌️ Make sure you are pivoting correctly for maximum swing speed creation - in this image, you’ll see a drill designed to create full, centred pivot. By applying pressure on the band with my left foot, it reduces sway and creates a strong coil for maximum power.

As you may be aware I regularly run 2 or 3 golf and coaching trips each year. This September I’m heading to the 5* Praia d’el Rey Golf & Beach Resort near Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹. This is one of my favourite golf resorts and for this trip we have 2 rounds on both the Praia d’el Rey & Royal Obidos golf courses. ⁣Included is 6 hours of group coaching plus some on-course help during our rounds together (min 1 round with me). ⁣It is on a half board basis with drinks at dinner included.
