Really proud of this lot today! 🥋

We completed Part 2 of the instructor training for our class leaders this afternoon and they did really well.

A big chunk of the session was spent role-playing how to deal with disruption and keeping control of the class and I have to say, they handled it brilliantly. There were some genuinely impressive moments that even surprised me!

You're going to start seeing these guys appearing more in your classes soon as class leaders, so keep an eye out for them stepping up. 👀

Kung Fu Schools Horsham has been named Martial Arts Classes of the Year at the Prestige Awards 2026/27.

12 years of showing up, working hard, and genuinely caring about every single student who walks through our door. And now this.

I want you to know this award belongs to our students, our families, and our amazing team. The judges reviewed everything publicly available about us, and what they saw was a reflection of the amazing community we have built here in Horsham.

We're so proud of this community. And we're just getting started. 🐉

🥋 NUMCHUCKS WORKSHOP! 🥋

What an awesome session we had exploring the skills of nunchucks today! 🤩

From learning the basics, getting the moves just right, to building confidence and coordination everyone gave it their all and looked incredible doing it! 💪

Huge well done to every single one of you for staying focused, having a go, and keeping the energy brilliant throughout.

Can’t wait for the swords next week! 🥷

A bit of Kung Fu in the car park this evening hoping the kids would get a glimpse of the solar eclipse, unfortunately the trees were in the way.

Congratulations to another awesome student for sharing their love of Kung Fu with a friend.

We are always grateful when our students share their love of Kung Fu and want to thank them in the best way we can, by winning lots of different prizes, this year we have given away Escrima sticks, dragons, pandas, private weapon lessons, nunchucks and many other prizes.

I had a conversation this week that summed up exactly why I do what I do.

A father came to tell me about his son one of our Kung Fu students, who was targeted and picked on out in public. He didn’t lash out, he didn’t get angry, he simply applied what we teach week in, week out.

He stood his ground, protected himself, and used his training to put a stop to it. The bully soon realised he wasn’t going to win this one, and backed off completely.

It’s easy to think we’re just learning kicks and blocks here… but what we’re really building is confidence, control and good judgement.

Most of our students don’t even see how capable they are until moments like this come along, how much easier it is to deal with bullies when you trust in what you can do. Most importantly: he showed real restraint. He did enough to keep himself safe, he didn’t hurt anyone badly, and he walked away unharmed.

That is the absolute best outcome we could ever hope for.
