Shaolin Kung Fu club Welcome to the official Horsham Shaolin Nam Pai Chuan Kung Fu page.
We are a club dedicated to the traditional martial art of Nam Pai Chuan, a kung fu system which has evolved from the Shaolin monasteries in China. Today, Nam Pai Chuan is taught and practiced at several locations in the UK and overseas. Training some takedowns in the park today. They can be thought about in 3 stages:
1. Block or evade the attack
2. Insert yourself into the attackers space through manipulating the contact you have in stage 1
3. Use body mechanics (waist turn, push/pull motion etc.) to take them down

That's a wrap on 2025! We had our final class of the year today, followed by a lovely meal. It's been a great year for the club - after 13 years of the club running we celebrated our very first Horsham black belt in July. It's also been wonderful seeing several of the teenagers who have trained with me for a long time, get their blue belts. We look forward to 2026 when two more candidates from Horsham hope to achieve their black belt.
