A far cry from the fantastic swimming facilities we have today at Bluecoat Sports Health & Fitness Club, this is a postcard of the original swimming baths at Christ's Hospital, built in 1902. The main bath and a learner bath behind it, were located in a converted farm building near to the Railway Station. 🏊

Do you remember your first swimming experience at CH?

On Saturday, we welcomed an Old Blue with a fascinating history. Patrick Fields (PeB, 37-44) celebrated his 100th birthday on 20 July. As well as reaching this milestone, Patrick is a WW2 veteran and former Bletchley Park codebreaker.

When asked what advice he would give to students and fellow Old Blues, he said: "Take advantage of what life offers you. Do the things you love but always keep moderation in mind. Never go the whole hog."

Many happy returns to Patrick. We'd love to hear your story too. Share it in the comments!

✈️ Old Blues at 35,000 feet!

Old Blue Madeline Carter Seabrook (ColA, GrW 18-20) First Officer, recently discovered her British Airways captain, Paul Stevenson (MdB 94-99), was also a Christ's Hospital alumnus while flying to Valencia.

Paul told Madeline he'd never flown with another Old Blue before, making it a memorable flight for them both. Thanks for sharing this brilliant photo and story, Madeline! 💙

Have you ever had an unexpected encounter with another Old Blue? Share your story with us in the comments.

A fantastic example of the impact that long-term partnerships can have on young people's lives.

As we celebrate 10 years of the Tazaki Foundation partnership, we're reminded that many of Christ's Hospital's most transformative relationships begin with a single introduction.

If you have connections to businesses, charitable foundations or philanthropists who may share our mission, we'd love to hear from you.

Celebrating 10 years of the Tazaki Foundation

For a decade, the Tazaki Foundation and Christ's Hospital have shared a commitment to giving young people life-changing opportunities.

Since 2017, we've welcomed 26 incredible Tazaki scholars to our school, and we're delighted to welcome three more this September.

Thank you, Mr Tazaki and the Tazaki Foundation, for 10 years of inspiring the next generation and strengthening the friendship between Japan and the UK.
