We had a fun day at Forest School today doing an autumn nature treasure hunt, finding hidden numbers in the trees to practice number recognition and counting, digging, swinging in the hammock and the children were very excited to find a little visitor hiding in the trees with a story to read. The children have also enjoyed learning about owls this week as our theme 🦉 🍂 🍁🦉

The children have enjoyed being back at Amber after the summer break! We have had fun over the last couple of weeks with lots of different activities and learning through play ❤️

Party Time at Amber Pre-School! 🥳🥳🥳

Today the children enjoyed their end of term summer party! They had lots of fun on the bouncy castle and slide, enjoyed party food and showed off their best dance moves in the dancing competition! 🎈🥳🎈

A great day to round off the end of the school year 😍

Today is International Shark Awareness Day and the children have enjoyed a shark themed day! 🦈🦈🦈

We made smiley sharks and scary sharks, walked the plank over shark infested water, decorated shark biscuits, read shark stories and sang Baby Shark together! 🦈 🦈 🦈

World Cup Day at Amber Pre-School! ⚽️🏆⚽️

Today the children have had lots of fun celebrating the World Cup! ⚽️🏆⚽️

They have enjoyed playing football and having a go as a goalkeeper! They have also enjoyed different games and activities as well as decorating their own football shirts!

We are a small, friendly and nurturing pre-school in Horsham for children aged from two years. We offer fun learning experiences and two forest school sessions per week to enrich our children's early years. We have spaces available in September 2026 on all days (mornings and afternoons) and are open 8.45 to 2.45 offering 30 hours. Forest school sessions are on a Monday and Friday morning.

🦋 This week our theme has been butterflies (it carried on for more than a day!) 🦋

We started our topic after spotting many lovely butterflies at Forest School on Monday. The children enjoyed looking for them and seeing the different colours.

We have made butterflies with paint and pipe cleaners and today made butterflies by using tissue paper and water - it was exciting to watch what happened to the colour in the tissue paper when the water was added!

The children enjoyed sharing a book about butterflies and we learnt that there are thousands of different types. We then made a feeder for them to put in the Amber garden and talked about what they like to eat 🍉🍓🍊

Amber's Rollercoaster Day! 🎢🎢🎢

We have had lots of fun today learning about rollercoasters - another theme chosen by one of the children! 🎢🎢🎢

The children have enjoyed building the marble run, riding in their own box rollercoaster, trying to rescue the rollercoaster tracks from the ice and we then tried to build our own rollercoaster using paper cups and plates!

We also watched a video showing what it's like to ride a wooden rollercoaster and then learnt some facts too! We learnt that rollercoasters don't have engines and instead they use gravity to work!
