Vivienne Smith, English Tutor

Vivienne Smith, English Tutor QUALIFIED, EXPERIENCED SECONDARY ENGLISH TEACHER - 1:1 TUITION TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S SUCCESS Hi. My name is Vivienne Smith.

I have many years of teaching experience - both as an online TESOL teacher of all ages (teaching English to speakers of other languages) and as a Secondary School English teacher to GCSE level. I have taught the AQA exam board and also EDUQAS. My style is friendly and encouraging, whilst wanting lessons to be as productive for your child as possible. I am also a qualified coach, which means that I am used to helping young people who feel anxious, overwhelmed or lacking in confidence. My grown-up son told me the other day that he still remembers how helpful my revision advice and home studying plan was to him when he went through his GCSEs, so that is another area I could help with. Before we start work together, I will ask you and your child where they most need help, so that I can tailor your sessions to give maximum value. Do they need help with the basics of spelling, punctuation and grammar? Maybe they agonise over analysing quotations or lack confidence in creative writing? Perhaps he or she could benefit from exam tips and techniques? Contact me to see how I can support their success. I can visit your home if you live in the Horsham area, or can provide online sessions.

I had a lovely time yesterday finding out how all my GCSE students fared. I am very happy and proud to say that they all passed! Here's a message from Lucy, a pleased parent: Here's a message from Lucy, a happy parent: "Vivienne came to our rescue for the last half of year 11. Our twins had not passed their English mock exams. Vivienne provided face to face 1:1 lessons in her home and also online. She quickly built up their confidence and tailored the sessions to their individual needs. She also provided additional resources, marked exam questions and provided feedback. In just a few months Vivienne not only ensured they passed their GCSEs but they went up 3 grades! We were absolutely thrilled and can not recommend Vivienne enough."
